They've been gradually parking them for a year or two now, but that
was the first big single push of -300 retirements from Southwest on
the same night. Several of those that went to VCV are destined to
become water bombers - and all -300's will be come from the fleet by
the end of September.

As a part of the same push that night, the following birds were also
retired to TUS:

SWA8500 B733 arr Aug 14 from Houston HOU = N379SW
