{coyotes} Red Wings start fast, beat Coyotes 5-3

DETROIT (AP) Anthony Mantha scored his team-leading fifth goal and Dylan Larkin added a goal and an assist as the Detroit Red Wings beat the Arizona Coyotes 5-3 on Tuesday night.

Knowing the Coyotes (1-11-1) had played the night before in Philadelphia, where they won in overtime for their first victory of the season, the Red Wings applied the pressure early. They fired the first eight shots on goal and scored twice before the game was three minutes old.

Gustav Nyquist intercepted a clearing attempt by Arizona defenseman Alex Goligoski and threaded a shot through traffic that beat goalie Scott Wedgewood at 1:31 of the first period.

Detroit made it 2-0 at 2:37 when Luke Glendening snapped a high wrist shot past Wedgewood on the blocker side.

The Coyotes got on the board 11:36 into the second when Jason Demers took a feed from Clayton Keller and his point shot eluded a partially screened Jimmy Howard.

But the Red Wings didn't allow the Coyotes a chance to start feeling good. Mantha made it 3-1 at 13:03, chipping a pass from Andreas Athanasiou behind Wedgewood.

Detroit increased its advantage to 4-1 in the final minute of the second when Larkin's backhand pass deflected off the stick of Coyotes defenseman Luke Schenn and over Wedgewood's shoulder at 19:03.

The Coyotes capitalized early in the third when Nick Cousins lifted a backhand past Howard at the two-minute mark. They pulled within a goal at 16:43 when Keller's shot was redirected past Howard by Brendan Perlini.

Darren Helm scored into an empty Coyotes net at 18:34 to close out the scoring.

NOTES: After wearing No. 40 in his debut Monday for the Coyotes, Wedgewood opted to switch to No. 31. ... D Niklas Hjalmarsson was out for the Coyotes with a lower-body injury sustained Monday at Philadelphia. . Detroit D Danny DeKeyser (sprained ankle) missed his 10th straight game.

{coyotes} Ekman-Larsson adapting to new normal with Coyotes

NEW YORK -- So much is different this season for Arizona Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson that it was bound to take him time to get used to his new normal.

Twelve games in, featuring mostly disappointment for the Coyotes, and Ekman-Larsson is working on figuring out how to thrive in the new up-tempo system installed by first-year Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet and how to live without his mother.

"Perspective," Ekman-Larsson said.

Ekman-Larsson's mother, Annika, died in Tingsryd, Sweden, before the end of last season from cancer, a disease she had for 10 years.

Near the end, Ekman-Larsson soldiered on in Arizona, albeit with a worried, guilty mind and a heavy heart.

"I don't think I'm going to go through something like that ever again," Ekman-Larsson said. "It was just hard knowing what's going on back home and not being there for my family and for my mom. At the same time, she wanted me to be over here and to keep playing, so that's why I made the decision to stay over here."

Ekman-Larsson went to Sweden in early January, when the Coyotes had five days off.

"Basically, to say goodbye," he said.

The Coyotes granted him a leave of absence April 3 so he could go home and be with his family to mourn. He missed the last three games of the season.

"When I was at the rink, everything was fine and I didn't think about it as much, but once you got in the car, it impacts you," Ekman-Larsson said. "But I'm super proud of myself that I did that for her and my family. That's what she wanted and that's what I went with."

Ekman-Larsson said he's playing with a freer mind this season knowing that his mother isn't in pain anymore. It's part of the perspective he has gained.

"I still take hockey serious and I still want to be a good hockey player and I still want to win, but at the same time, you look at it in a different way," he said. "Life is short. You don't know how many more games I have in the League, how many more years, how many more chances I have to score a goal or win the Cup. You don't know, so you want to be your best every single day and just have fun. That's all you can do."

The Coyotes, who play at the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; FS-A, FS-D, NHL.TV), are 1-10-1 after a 4-3 overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday helped them avoid becoming the first NHL team to lose its first 12 games.

Ekman-Larsson is having a tough time adjusting to the way Tocchet wants him and the team to play. He has seven points (one goal, six assists) in 12 games.

"I've been playing the same system for seven years [under former coach Dave Tippett], so it takes time to get used to it," Ekman-Larsson said. "I've never played this kind of system before, but I'm feeling good about it. I like it."

Tocchet's system requires the Coyotes defensemen to skate more but get rid of the puck quicker. He wants the defensemen to get the puck and quickly look up the ice to find the forward breaking out of the zone, and then join the rush.

It's similar to how the Pittsburgh Penguins play, and that's not a coincidence considering Tocchet was an assistant under Penguins coach Mike Sullivan the past two seasons.

"It's less taking the puck back and waiting," Tocchet said. "I want to go the other way before the other team has their structure in place."

Tippett's system required the defensemen to back off more and, when they got the puck, to hold it longer to wait for a regroup before beginning a five-man breakout with the idea of creating speed that way. It was designed to be more conservative.

"For us D, it's a lot of skating forward this year," Ekman-Larsson said. "The past years, we have been skating backward and a lot. That took some time to get used to, but I like the way the system is going."

Tocchet said he sees the progress Ekman-Larsson is making, but he is urging him to watch video of Penguins defenseman Kris Letang because he thinks he can play a similar style in this system.

"Obviously, a player wants to have his own identity, but [Letang] is a guy that I would watch," Tocchet said. "Kris Letang can play 28 minutes. He's in fabulous shape. He's up the ice, but he also defends. When the pressure is on, he can make that right play at the right time. Yeah, he makes mistakes, but he's good at recovering from his mistakes. Those are attributes I think [Ekman-Larsson] can get better at."

Tocchet said it's time for that to happen.

"I need him to really be that leader back there," Tocchet said. "It's a 3-3 game, six minutes left, the other team wants to push, and he's got to be that rock that settles us down."

One thing Ekman-Larsson said he won't do is let frustration get the better of him. He has experienced a lot of losing in the desert, but he said he's fully invested in the Coyotes.

"It would feel like I'm throwing eight years away if I take the easy way out and say, 'Hey, I'm done, I'm not doing this anymore,'" Ekman-Larsson said. "No. I want to be the guy who turns this thing around. I want to be the difference-maker. That's why I'm still here. I really believe in this team and this organization that we could be good."

That would be a welcomed part of his new normal.

{coyotes} Coyotes get 1st win, beat Flyers in OT after blowing lead

PHILADELPHIA (AP) The struggling Arizona Coyotes finally got their first win of the season, beating the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 on Alex Goligoski's overtime goal after blowing a two-goal lead in the final minute of regulation Monday night.

Goligoski scored with 14.4 seconds left on the clock in OT and Arizona (1-10-1) avoided setting an NHL record for most consecutive losses to start a season. Jordan Martinook, Christian Dvorak and Brandon Perlini also scored for the Coyotes, who matched the 1943-44 Rangers (0-11) by losing their first 11 games.

Sean Couturier scored twice and Ivan Provorov had three assists for the Flyers.

Arizona was in position to close it out earlier, but Jordan Weal scored on a rebound with 53 seconds left in the third period to pull Philadelphia to 3-2 and Couturier tipped a shot past goalie Scott Wedgewood with 16 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 3.

Goligoski scored the winner from a sharp angle in the 3-on-3 overtime period after a pass from Clayton Keller. The Coyotes leaped off the bench and swarmed Goligoski to celebrate their first win.

Wedgewood made 28 saves in his Arizona debut, and Niklas Hjalmarsson added a pair of assists for the Coyotes. Wedgewood was acquired Saturday from the Devils for a 2018 fifth-round draft pick. Arizona is awaiting the return of starter Antti Raanta, who has been out since Oct. 12 with an upper-body injury.

Weal pulled Philadelphia within a goal by scoring on a rebound before Couturier's equalizer. Provorov batted down the puck just inside the blue line to keep the play in the offensive zone and passed to Claude Giroux, who sent a cross-ice pass to Couturier.

The Coyotes struck first for the ninth time in 12 games when Martinook finished from close range just 2:20 in after a deft pass from Hjalmarsson from the slot. Hjalmarsson faked a slap shot and passed to the weak side, where Martinook went to his knees and lifted the puck over diving Flyers goalie Brian Elliott.

Arizona made it 2-0 just more than 5 1/2 minutes later on Dvorak's first goal of the season. Oliver Ekman-Larsson took the initial shot from the point. The attempt deflected to Dvorak, who shot past Elliott's right pad from a sharp angle.

It was an ugly first period for Philadelphia, which managed just three shots - none by a forward - in the opening 20 minutes.

The Coyotes extended their lead to 3-0 on Perlini's power-play goal 1:24 into the third. Perlini's quick wrist shot from the right circle beat Elliott on the glove side.

Philadelphia got a goal back 40 seconds later on Couturier's power-play tally from the slot.

NOTES: Philadelphia D Shayne Gostisbehere was out of the lineup after sustaining an upper-body injury in the Flyers' 4-2 win over Toronto on Saturday night. Gostisbehere entered Monday leading defensemen with 13 points. The team originally planned to replace him with rookie Sam Morin, but nagging injuries to Morin prompted the Flyers to instead recall Mark Alt from Lehigh Valley of the AHL for his second NHL game. . The Flyers will play at Arizona on Feb. 10 to complete the season series.

{coyotes} Bratt's late PP goal lifts Devils over winless Coyotes 4-3

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) When the New Jersey Devils were consistently one of the NHL's elite franchises, one of their trademarks was a near-unwavering belief that they could defeat any opponent.

It's a trait their modern-day descendants appear to be developing.

''When you find ways to win, it does build a belief that you can do it,'' New Jersey coach John Hynes said after a 4-3 victory Saturday night over the winless Arizona Coyotes, who became the second NHL team to start a season with 11 consecutive losses.

Jesper Bratt's tiebreaking goal on a power play with 4:13 left was the winner and capped a game in which the Devils rallied from 1-0 and 3-2 deficits.

''Credit to the guys,'' Hynes said. ''They found ways to stay with it and have executed at key times to come back in games. That's something we haven't been able to do the past couple years, so it's certainly an improvement.''

Taylor Hall scored twice and Bratt had two assists as New Jersey improved to 8-2-0 with its fifth win in six games. Brian Gibbons added a goal on a short-handed penalty shot for the Devils.

Cory Schneider made 34 saves after missing two games due to a lower-body injury and the birth of his daughter.

''It's a really exciting time for my wife and I and my son,'' Schneider said. ''You get a little extra inspiration and motivation to play for them.''

Arizona fell to 0-10-1 and joined the 1943-44 New York Rangers (0-11) as the only clubs in NHL history to open a season with 11 straight defeats.

''I've been on a team where we've struggled throughout the course of the year,'' Brendan Perlini said. ''You just have to work hard.''

Perlini, Christian Fischer and Clayton Keller scored for Arizona. Louis Domingue finished with 21 saves

The Coyotes scored the first goal for the eighth time this season when Fischer connected on a power play 10:37 into the game. Fischer drove down the left wing and whipped Christian Dvorak's rebound past Schneider before colliding with the New Jersey goalie in the crease, which sparked a mini wrestling match between Coyotes and Devils players.

Arizona had a lead, and it lasted a full 1:18 before Gibbons tied it with the Devils down a man at 11:55. Gibbons drew a hooking call on Oliver Ekman-Larsson on a breakaway, leading to the penalty shot. New Jersey's leading goal scorer broke in on Domingue and faked a shot before using a forehand-backhand move to slide the puck under Domingue.

As they did in the first period, the teams traded goals in the second.

Hall broke the deadlock with his second of the season at 11:09 with a wrist shot from the slot set up by Bratt's forecheck, but Perlini pulled Arizona even 48 seconds after Hall's goal.

''They're everything a good team is,'' Hall said of the Coyotes. ''They're just not getting wins right now. That's what we saw. ... They played a really solid game.''

Keller stripped top draft pick Nick Hischier in the offensive zone before snapping in his team-leading eighth goal to give the Coyotes a 3-2 lead heading into the second intermission.

''That was the best second period we played all year,'' Keller said. ''We were in their zone the whole game, we were playing our game, getting pucks deep and throwing it at the net.''

New Jersey tied it 3-all on Hall's second power-play goal from the left faceoff circle 4:30 into the third to set the stage for Bratt. With the Devils on a power play following Fischer's roughing penalty, Bratt slammed in Hall's feed from the right circle.

New Jersey was 2 for 2 on the power play, while Arizona went 1 for 5.

''Our power play is clicking,'' Hall said. ''That's really a positive thing for the skill guys on the team to go out and feel good.''

NOTES: Before the game, the Devils traded goalie Scott Wedgewood to the Coyotes for a 2018 fifth-round draft pick. Wedgewood dressed for Arizona and wore No. 40 as he served as the backup to Domingue. After acquiring the pick, New Jersey has eight selections in next June's draft. ... During his pregame media availability, Hynes announced defenseman Andy Greene would miss the game after his wife, Rachel, gave birth to the couple's second child, Maddox David. ... Devils right wing Kyle Palmieri missed his second straight game with a lower-body injury. He is day to day. ... New Jersey dressed right wing Stefan Noesen in place of left wing Marcus Johansson. On its Twitter feed, the team announced Johansson sustained a lower-body injury during warmups. ... Arizona scratched defenseman Adam Clendening and center Nick Cousins. Coyotes goalie Antti Raanta missed his seventh straight game with a lower-body injury, and goalie Adin Hill was sent down to Tucson of the AHL. ... It was the second of two professional hockey games Saturday at Prudential Center. Earlier in the day, the Metropolitan Riveters beat the Boston Pride 4-1 in a National Women's Hockey League matchup. The Devils have a partnership with the Riveters.

{coyotes} Coyotes acquire Wedgewood from Devils

The Arizona Coyotes have gotten some much needed help in net.

The team acquired goaltender Scott Wedgewood from the New Jersey Devils on Saturday for a 2018 fifth-round draft pick, reports TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie.

A native of Brampton, Ont., Wedgewood was taken in the third round of the 2010 National Hockey League Entry Draft out of the Ontario Hockey League's Plymouth Whalers.

Wedgewood, 25, has spent the last five seasons with the Devils organization at the ECHL and American Hockey League levels. He appeared in four games for the Devils in 2015-2016, posting a 2-1-1 record with a goals against average of 1.25 and a .957 save percentage.

Internationally, Wedgewood was a member of the bronze medal-winning Canada team at the 2010 World Junior Hockey Championship.

Coyotes starting goalie Antti Raanta has not played since October 12 with a lower-body injury.

The team is next in action on Saturday when they, coincidentally, visit the Devils.

{coyotes} Buchnevich, Nieves lead Rangers to 5-2 win over Coyotes

NEW YORK (AP) Their youth and a new-look fourth line helped the New York Rangers get a needed win.

Pavel Buchnevich scored twice and added an assist, rookie Boo Nieves had three assists and the Rangers beat the winless Arizona Coyotes 5-2 Thursday night.

Michael Grabner had two goals, Chris Kreider also scored and Ondrej Pavelec stopped 27 shots to help New York get just its third victory of the season in the finale of a season-high six-game homestand.

''I think we just meshed really well - me, Grabner and Buchnevich,'' said Nieves, who was called up from Hartford of the AHL on Tuesday. ''Grabner is a really fast player like me so it's easy to keep up with him. A guy like Buchnevich can put the puck just about anywhere. They made my transition here pretty easy.''

New York shook up its line combinations and played with a traditional lineup consisting of 12 forwards and six defensemen for the first time in a week. It helped the Rangers beat Arizona for the eighth straight time, dating back to March 24, 2014.

''I think that permits us to play with a higher pace and more energy,'' Vigneault said after the game about his lineup decision. ''We can roll those four lines, I think that's what Boo's line helped us do tonight by playing well and being efficient on the ice.''

Anthony Duclair and Clayton Keller scored, and Adin Hill made 24 saves as the Coyotes fell to 0-9-1. Arizona is just one away from tying the 1943-44 Rangers as the only teams in NHL history to open the season with 11 losses.

The Coyotes' latest defeat spoiled the return of former Rangers star Derek Stepan to Madison Square Garden for the first time since he was traded to Arizona along with goalie Antti Raanta in the offseason.

''It was probably one of the hardest things I've had to do in my career,'' Stepan said of the matchup against his former team which included a first-period video tribute. ''I thought it took me a period and a half to get going. I was just mentally not sharp. It was hard to stay focused. I'm glad it's over with and I can move on. It wasn't easy and I didn't expect it to be easy.''

Arizona trailed 2-0 after one period before Duclair got a loose puck in front of the net and beat Pavelec for his third of the season at 5:13 of the second.

''Nobody here wants to lose. Everybody wants to win,'' Keller said. ''We have to continue to stay positive. Hopefully things will turn around here. Every young team goes through this. We just have to stay positive.''

The Rangers regained their two-goal lead just 46 seconds later as Nieves, called up from Hartford of the AHL on Tuesday, set up Grabner for his second assist of the game.

After Hill turned the puck over, Buchnevich took advantage by scoring into the open net for his first career multi-goal game and putting the Rangers up 4-1. Nieves got his third assist on the play.

''He's got a real good shot and a good release,'' Vigneault said of Buchnevich. ''We want him to be using his skill but we want him to be strong on the puck battles so that he could keep the puck and then make plays.''

Keller extended his point streak to four-games with a power-play goal at 3:52 of the third to pull the Coyotes within two again. Keller leads all NHL rookies with seven goals this season.

Grabner sealed the win with an empty-netter in the final minute.

Kreider opened the scoring at 8:01 of the first after he buried a beautiful drop pass from Mats Zuccarello.

With 4:03 remaining in the opening period, Buchnevich fired a long-distance wrist shot off the post and in to give New York a two-goal advantage. Nieves got his earned his first career NHL point on the play.

Stepan played the first seven seasons of his career in New York and skated in 515 contests with the Rangers. Raanta did not play due to a lower-body injury.

''He's a good friend,'' Zuccarello said of Stepan. ''Obviously, you wish he was here as a friend and a player but it's a part of the game. It's weird to see him in the other jersey.''

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault got his 617th career victory, tying Jacques Lemaire for 13th place on NHL's all-time wins list.

NOTES: Rick Nash skated in his 1,000th career NHL game, becoming the 312th player in NHL history to reach the milestone. ... Pavelec became the third Czech-born goaltender to make 10,000 career saves (Dominik Hasek and Tomas Vokoun). ... Marc Staal skated in his 700th career NHL game. ... The Rangers scratched F Paul Carey and D Steven Kampfer. ... Arizona scratched D Kevin Connauton and F Christian Fischer. ... Arizona F Brendan Perlini returned after missing the previous six games with an upper-body injury.

{coyotes} Doan joins NHL's Hockey Ops department

Shane Doan has joined the NHL's front office.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, Doan has accepted a position in the hockey operations department and will work under Colin Campbell.

Doan retired after 21 NHL seasons  in July when he failed to land a contract in free agency. He spent his entire career with the Arizona Coyotes franchise.

Upon his retirement, it was widely speculated Doan, who captained Canada at three world hockey championships, would play for Team Canada at the 2018 Olympic Games.

However, while speaking to TSN Radio 1050 last month, Doan appeared to be leaning against continuing his hockey career on the international stage.

"(Team Canada general manager Sean) Burke and I have talked and that'd be a pretty tough decision to do that," Doan said. "I did it in 2004 during the lockout and then I played in the world championships in Vienna and we had an unbelievable team, made it to the final... And I was awful, like awful. I embarrassed myself a little bit and I didn't play that whole year and just played in that and we had a one month training camp and if you don't play it's hard to then play against guys that have been playing. I don't care who it is, where it's at, it's hard.

"That's a big commitment for my family if I was to have to go and play somewhere now. Burkie and I will talk probably again, but that's a pretty tough decision."

LeBrun notes current Toronto Maple Leafs president Brendan Shanahan and Los Angeles Kings general manager Rob Blake took similar roles under Campbell after their retirements.

{coyotes} Cousins: Winless Coyotes are 'fragile right now'

The Arizona Coyotes dropped to 0-8-1 with their loss to the New York Islanders on Tuesday night, equaling the longest losing streak to start a season since 1943.

The Coyotes fell 5-3 on Tuesday night, despite outshooting the Islanders 35-25.

The team's lone point of the season came in an overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 7 and forward Nick Cousins described the locker room as fragile after their latest loss.

"I think we're really fragile right now," Cousins, who was acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers in June, told Arizona Sports 98.7. "It's really frustrating. Guys are really sick of it. It's nice to see that guys hate losing including myself, but at the same time here, we've got to dig deep and starting Thursday, we've got to figure this thing out."

The Coyotes joined the 2002-03 Atlanta Thrashers and the 2005-06 Pittsburgh Penguins as the only teams in post-Original Six era to start a season with nine straight losses. The 1943-44 New York Rangers own the overall record with 11 straight losses to open a season.

Despite their dismal start to the season under new head coach Rick Tocchet, Coyotes general manager John Chayka told Craig Morgan of AZ Sports he has no plans to make any immediate changes.

"Staying the course," Chayka said. "Hope to get healthy sooner than later."

The Coyotes could get concussed forward Brandon Perlini back in the lineup in times for Thursday's game, while goaltender Antti Raanta and defenceman Jakob Chychrun have both resumed skating as they work to rehab lower-body injuries.

"They're good players," Tocchet told Morgan before Tuesday's loss. "It's going to add to the make-up of our team. It adds depth.

"In those situations with five, six minutes left, you want Raanta in net. You want a Perlini, maybe on a power play. You want a Jakob Chychrun, but we have other guys that need to step up. Some guys have. We've got to get more from some other guys and they know it. (If we do), maybe those games that are tied with five minutes left, we're going to win some of those games."

Perlini posted one assist in his three games with the team before the injury, while Raanta posted a .911 save percentage the three games he appeared in. Chychrun injured his knee in August and missed all of training camp.

The Coyotes will attempt to end their losing skid Thursday against the Rangers, who are off to a 2-6-2 this season.

{coyotes} Tavares' tiebreaker finishes hat trick, Isles top Coyotes

NEW YORK (AP) John Tavares completed his hat trick with a tiebreaking goal in the third period, lifting the New York Islanders over the winless Arizona Coyotes 5-3 on Tuesday night.

The Islanders won their third straight and improved to 5-3-1. Jaroslav Halak made 32 saves for New York.

Adam Pelech had three assists for the Islanders, and fellow defenseman Scott Mayfield cemented the win with his first goal of the season at 17:03.

The Coyotes - starting a five-game road trip - fell to 0-8-1 under new coach Rick Tocchet.

Tavares' seventh career three-goal game came on a night when he also moved past Islanders forward Bob Bourne into seventh place on the career franchise goals list. The 27-year-old Tavares has six goals this season and 241 career tallies. Bourne had 238 goals with the Islanders from 1974-86.

Brock Nelson put the Islanders ahead 3-2 early in the third on the power play, but Arizona's Nick Cousins tied it at 8:57 with a long-range shot that eluded Halak.

Nelson's fifth goal of the season on a snapshot from the right circle beat goalie Louis Dominque at 4:32 of the third, three minutes after Arizona's Mario Kempe tied it at 2.

Tavares scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season in the second after Arizona's Anthony Duclair scored early in the first.

Duclair opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 4:47 of the first. Duclair finished off a passing play started by former Ranger Derek Stepan and rookie Clayton Keller.

The goal was Duclair's second of the season and came with Anders Lee of the Islanders in the penalty box for tripping.

It was the seventh time in nine games the Coyotes scored a first- period goal.

Starting an eight-day road trip, the Coyotes had the better of play in the first, outshooting the Islanders 14-6 before a sparse crowd at Barclays Center.

Stepan, traded to Arizona by the Rangers after last season, has two goals and five assists in his last seven games for the low-scoring Coyotes, who have 21 goals in nine games. Six of those goals are from the 19-year-old Keller, who had two assists against the Islanders.

Tavares tied it at 3:41 of the second when he tipped in a pass from Jordan Eberle after linemate Anders Lee stripped the puck from Coyotes defenseman Jason Demers to the right of Dominque, who is 0-5 so far after being pressed into a leading role with starter Antti Raanta out with a lower-body injury for the past two weeks.

Tavares put the Islanders ahead when a pass from Pelech towards Tavares in the slot, banked in off Tavares' skate at 14:25 of the second.

Eberle, who assisted on Tavares' first two goals and has six assists on the campaign, has yet to score through nine games in his first season with the Islanders.

NOTES: The Coyotes will host the Islanders on Jan. 22. ... The Islanders scratched forward Josh Ho-Sang and defensemen Ryan Pulock and Dennis Seidenberg while the Coyotes scratched defenseman Kevin Connauton, forward Lawson Crouse and goaltender Antti Raanta.
