NEW YORK -- The National Hockey League announced today the 2019-20 National Hockey League composite preseason schedule, a 16-day, 107-game slate played across 43 NHL and neutral-site venues in North America and Europe from Sept. 15-30
Three months and three days after the St. Louis Blues skated to their first championship at TD Garden in Boston, the road to the 2020 Stanley Cup begins when the Vegas Golden Knights play host to the Arizona Coyotes in the 2019-20 NHL preseason opener on Sept. 15. The Blues begin their title defense the following day when they meet the Stars in Dallas.
Across the Atlantic, the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers each will play one preseason game against European club team opposition ahead of their regular-season opener in Prague, Czech Republic, on Oct. 4. The Blackhawks will face Eisbaren Berlin in Berlin, Germany, on Sept. 29 (7:30 p.m. local/1:30 p.m. ET, NHL Network), while the Flyers will take on HC Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Sept. 30 (8 p.m. local/2 p.m. ET, NHL Network), both as part of the 2019 NHL Global Series.
The people of Renous, N.B., winners of the Kraft Hockeyville 2019 competition from across Canada as the country's most passionate hockey community, will celebrate the grand prize of a preseason game between the Florida Panthers and Montreal Canadiens on Sept. 18. The Panthers and Canadiens will face off in nearby Bathurst, N.B., at K.C. Irving Regional Centre (7 p.m. ET, Sportsnet, TVAS).
The following week, the Detroit Red Wings and defending Stanley Cup champion Blues head to Calumet, Mich., winner of Kraft Hockeyville™ USA 2019. The Red Wings and Blues will square off at Calumet Colosseum on Sept. 26 (7 p.m. ET, NBCSN).
