Jakob Chychrun sustained a lower-body injury and was limited to 5:51 of playing time for the Coyotes in a 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
The defenseman collided with Bruins defenseman Derek Forbort. He took three shifts in second period and none in third.
"(Coyotes head athletic trainer Dave Zenobi) thinks it won't be that long," coach Andre Tourigny said. "Hopefully day to day or something like that. I don't have the final say from the medical staff, but 'Z' was somehow positive. Hopefully he's right."
Chychrun scored four goals in his previous two games. He's been the subject of rumors approaching the 2022 NHL Trade Deadline on March 21. He turns 24 on March 31 and has three years remaining on a six-year contract he signed with the Coyotes on Nov. 13, 2018.
"I'm trying to be present with the guys and come to work every day and have fun and that's really all you can do," he said March 10. "It's been going on for a while and I haven't paid much attention to it. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen."
