NEW YORK -- Phoenix Coyotes forward Lauri Korpikoski is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and

will not play Monday night against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

Korpikoski sustained the injury during the morning skate. While practicing odd-man rushes, the 27-year-old was hit in the head by an errant pass that deflected off a teammate's stick. He quickly headed for the dressing room and did not return to practice.

In 55 games this season, Korpikoski has nine goals and 24 points. He won a bronze medal with Finland at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, scoring two goals and four points in six games.
