The Arizona Coyotes have placed starting goaltender Antti Raanta on the injured reserve with a lower-body injury the team announced on Friday.
Raanta has been out since Nov. 27 when he was removed from his last start with an injury and hasn't been able to return to practice. This is the second injury for the 28-year-old this season after he missed eight games with a lower-body injury earlier in November.
In 12 games this season, he has a 5-6 record along with a 2.88 GAA and a .906 save percentage. The Coyotes are sixth in the Pacific division with a 13-12-2 record and sit five points out of a playoff spot.
With Raanta sidelined, rookie Adin Hill will continue to start with Calvin Pickard serving as his backup. Hill has a 4-1-0 record with a 0.957 save percentage and one shutout this season.
