{coyotes} Coyotes end Golden Knights' 10-game win streak with 3-0 win

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Adin Hill stopped 25 shots and the Arizona Coyotes ended the Vegas Golden Knights' 10-game winning streak while keeping their playoff hopes alive with a 3-0 win Friday night.

Arizona failed on a chance to solidify its playoff chances over the past two weeks, losing four of five games to drop behind St. Louis for the West Division's final playoff spot.

The Coyotes played the Golden Knights, the division's top team, with a playoff-like intensity in a physical, fast-paced game.

John Hayden and Michael Bunting scored, and Arizona shut down a Vegas team that had outscored teams 45-17 during its franchise-long win streak. Hill finished off his second shutout this season - third career- and Christian Fischer capped it with an empty-net goal, allowing the Coyotes to pull within three points of the Blues for fourth in the West.

Robin Lehner had 29 saves for the Golden Knights, who saw their lead in the West Division tighten. Vegas leads Colorado by four points after the Avalanche beat San Jose.

The Coyotes played like a team fighting for a playoff spot and the Golden Knights like a team on a 10-game winning streak in a hard-hitting, back-and-forth first period.

Both goalies made spectacular saves before Hayden beat Lehner from the slot on a rebound midway through the period.

Vegas picked up the pressure at the end of the first into the second with a series of rushes and quality chances. Hill was sharp and the Coyotes counterpunched the second half of the period.

It carried over into the third and Bunting capitalized, punching in a round 1:30 in to make it 2-0.

Vegas turned up the pressure, but Hill made some difficult saves and Fischer closed out Arizona's must-win game with an empty netter.

{coyotes} Kane's 20th goal leads Sharks past Coyotes 4-2

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) Evander Kane reached the 20-goal mark for the sixth straight season, Josef Korenar made 28 saves to win his second straight start and the San Jose Sharks beat the Arizona Coyotes 4-2 Wednesday night.

Kane's goal started a three-goal barrage for San Jose in the first period with Rudolfs Balcers and Kevin Labanc following up to help San Jose sweep the two-game series against Arizona.

The Sharks entered the series on an eight-game losing streak that all but knocked them out of playoff contention.

With the back-to-back losses the Coyotes fell three points behind St. Louis for the final playoff spot in the West Division with the Blues holding three games in hand. Arizona has lost nine of 11 games overall.

Tomas Hertl sealed the game with an empty-net goal for San Jose.

Phil Kessel and Johan Larsson scored but the Coyotes couldn't get anything else past the 23-year-old rookie Korenar. He got his first two career wins this week against Arizona.

Kane played a big role in both wins with a goal and three assists on Monday night and then another goal in this game to give him 20 on the season. Kane became the fourth player to reach at least 20 goals in each of the past six seasons, joining Alex Ovechkin, Brad Marchand and Aleksander Barkov.

Darcy Kuemper made 27 saves for Arizona.

FAST START

The Sharks jumped on top of Arizona early for a second straight game. After scoring 17 seconds into the game on Monday, the Sharks took 1:12 to get on the board in this game when Kane finished off a nifty passing sequence started by Tomas Hertl and Alexander Barabanov.

San Jose added to that lead when Balcers took a turnover at the blue line and skated in to beat Kuemper with a backhand to make it 2-0.

Labanc added the third goal when he knocked in a loose puck after a scramble in front of the net.

SHARK KILLER

Kessel got the Coyotes on the board late in the first period when Nick Schmaltz's shot deflected off him and in for his 18th goal. Arizona had an extra skater on the ice for 59 seconds because of a delayed penalty before the goal. It was Kessel's eighth goal of the season against San Jose, tying a record for the most vs. the Sharks held by Teemu Selanne (1995-96) and Luc Robitaille (1992-93).

{coyotes} Update on the NHL Draft Lottery

We know this year's NHL Draft is going to be held virtually on July 23 and 24, but is there now news on the Draft Lottery?

Yes, the Draft Lottery is set for June 2. Now, there are a couple of interesting wrinkles this year. One, of course, is the addition of Seattle to the Draft Lottery and they will be slotted with the third-best odds for the No. 1 overall pick. But the other question mark is what happens with the Arizona Coyotes, who are now likely to miss the playoffs and their draft pick in terms of the lottery because they forfeited that of course with the penalty with the improper testing of prospects scandal that happened last year. So, moving forward, the league plans to keep the Coyotes' odds wherever they land in that same position. They're not going to take those odds and redistribute them to other teams. But if the Coyotes' pick were to come up as the winner, well, then of course the NHL would re-draw. So, something to keep in mind as we get closer. The official odds haven't been passed out yet – not publicly – but also not to teams as well. So we're waiting to see what those official odds are.

{coyotes} NHL, Turner Sports reach deal for games on TNT, TBS

The NHL and Turner Sports announced a seven-year media rights agreement Tuesday that will have regular-season, Stanley Cup Playoff and Stanley Cup Final games televised on TNT and TBS starting next season and running through 2027-28.

"They put a fun and innovative factor into all of what they do and we're excited to have that same treatment for our sport and for our fans," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said. "We love the reach of their linear networks, both TNT and TBS, and as we look to the future, we're excited about the digital properties, in particular HBO Max and Bleacher Report. For us, this is a perfect fit."

Turner Sports, a division of WarnerMedia, joins the Walt Disney Co. and ESPN as the NHL's national media rights partners in the United States for the next seven seasons. The NHL, the Walt Disney Co. and ESPN announced a multiplatform media rights deal March 10.

Financial terms of each agreement were not disclosed.

"It's good," Commissioner Bettman said. "We think the arrangements we have now are much more reflective of the value that we bring as compelling content."

Commissioner Bettman said the NHL salary cap, which is tied to revenues and expected to stay flat at $81.5 million for the foreseeable future, should be able to increase sooner than expected because of the financial ramifications of the two media rights agreements.

"We have a fairly large escrow to be made up and until we do the cap is basically flat," Commissioner Bettman said. "The increase in value obviously is going to shorten the timeframe that perhaps many had projected when we did the Return to Play for last season and extended the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

"We have six years of labor peace that we're in the midst of and the point to which the cap will then kick into the old formula I think as a result of our partnerships moving forward will be sooner than it otherwise would have been."

The NHL joins the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball and the NCAA national men's basketball tournament as partners with Turner Sports.

As part of the agreement, Turner Sports networks will televise the NHL Winter Classic, the League's annual New Year's Day outdoor game, in all seven seasons of the deal.

They will televise all games in the Stanley Cup Final in 2023, 2025 and 2027, one conference final series each season and half of the first two rounds of the playoffs along with 72 regular-season games per season.

Scheduling and programming will be determined in the coming weeks, WarnerMedia News & Sports Chairman Jeff Zucker said.

The Stanley Cup Final will be televised on ABC in 2022, 2024, 2026 and 2028 as part of the deal with the Walt Disney Co. and ESPN.

They have the rights to one conference final round per season, half of the first two rounds of the playoffs, 25 regular-season games on ABC or ESPN, and 75 additional national games that will stream on ESPN+ and Hulu.

In addition, they will stream more than 1,000 out-of-market games each regular season on ESPN+, which will replace NHL.TV.

"Creating a wider distribution base is only going to continue to grow the sport and help it skew younger," Commissioner Bettman said. "On all of the basic platforms and all of the basic principles that I was focused on moving forward for our long-term media strategy, I think we've hit all the bases and we've got great partnerships. That's why we're so excited."

Zucker said there will be no conflicts with Turner Sports coverage of the NBA, which also has a media rights partnership with Walt Disney Co. and ESPN.

"We have a terrific relationship with ESPN and we work really well with them already on the NBA and I have every reason to believe that continues here, so that is good for everybody," Zucker said. "We already work out scheduling with them on the NBA in terms of playoffs and games there. I think that institutional knowledge between the two companies is a benefit here. On a separate note, our ability to have both TNT and TBS available as fully distributed cable networks in the heavy months of April, May and June, I think really gives us an advantage and will make a lot of this easier. We're incredibly excited about this relationship with the NHL."

Bleacher Report, which is owned by Turner, will have expansive digital rights to use NHL highlights as part of the agreement.

HBO Max, another subsidiary of Turner Sports, will gain digital streaming and simulcast rights that won't be available to consumers until later in the agreement, Zucker said.

"These are places we are going to be moving to and I think that's going to be great for our fans," Commissioner Bettman said. "If you're a hockey fan you've got more national games than ever before, you've got more extensive coverage than ever before. You're going to be able to get as much hockey as you want."

Zucker said Turner's plan is to develop a studio show similar to its 11-time Sports Emmy Award-winning show "Inside the NBA," which features host Ernie Johnson and analysts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal and Kenny Smith.

"There is a style to Turner Sports and there's an approach, and we want to bring that same approach to the NHL," Zucker said.

NBC has been the NHL's national media rights partner since 2005-06. Its 10-year agreement with the League expires after the Stanley Cup Final this season.

"NBC has reconfirmed to me that we should expect no difference in the treatment that we are going to get compared to what we've gotten over the length of our relationship," Commissioner Bettman said.

Commissioner Bettman said the NHL will turn its attention to the future of the NHL Network.

"We envision in some form continuing the NHL Network," Commissioner Bettman said. "We think it's important for hockey fans, but the specifics of that isn't anything that we've addressed yet. How we continue to distribute it, how we produce it is something that we are now going to focus on."

{coyotes} NHL preparing to adjust Stanley Cup playoffs if needed

The NHL is preparing to adjust playoff contingency plans if virus restrictions in Canada prevent travel between provinces or back and forth to the U.S.

"Where we play is going to depend on COVID, obviously -- we hope to keep everybody healthy -- and it's going to depend on government regulations in terms of where we're going to be able to travel our players and our teams and where we can't," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said Tuesday. "If we can't travel in Canada, either as among the provinces or from the U.S. to Canada and back, we'll make whatever adjustments we have to do to get the playoffs completed."

Bettman called the situation "wildly unpredictable" and one that changes daily. The NHL kicked the can down the road on cross-border travel by having all seven Canadian teams play in the same division for the entire regular season and first two rounds of the playoffs.

The first time a Canadian team would need to play a counterpart in the U.S. would be in June, though there has been speculation about the first two rounds of the North Division playoffs happening in a quarantined bubble.

Canada has so far lagged behind in vaccinating people against COVID-19 compared to the U.S. Canada has fully vaccinated 2.71% of people, while the U.S. is just under 29%.

That disparity has prevented the NHL from relaxing virus protocols for teams that reach a certain threshold of vaccination, which is the case with the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball that currently have all teams playing in the U.S.

{coyotes} NHL reaches 7-year deal with Turner Sports, ending NBC run

The National Hockey League is coming to TNT.

The league and Turner Sports on Tuesday announced a seven-year agreement that begins next season.

The deal means NBC's run of covering the league ends after after this season's playoffs. NBC has broadcast games since 2005 and is in the final season of a 10-year contract.

When the Stanley Cup Finals are shown on Turner in 2023, it will mark the first time since 1994 they will be only on cable.

The TNT arrangement includes three Stanley Cup Finals, up to 72 regular-season games, half of the first- and second-round playoff games on TNT and TBS as well as a conference final series. One of the regular-season games will be the NHL Winter Classic, which is played on New Year's Day.

It also includes live streaming and digital rights across WarnerMedia properties, including HBO Max and Bleacher Report.

"This new partnership will provide our fans with the content they love on the platforms and devices of their choice," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said in a statement. "TNT is a proven and acclaimed destination for sports fans and we will also benefit from the deep connection Bleacher Report has with young digital-savvy fans."

The agreement with Turner will give the NHL two network partners in the United States for the first time since 1998-99.

The league reached an agreement with Walt Disney Corp. last month that includes four Stanley Cup Finals, 25 regular-season games on ESPN and ABC, the NHL All-Star game and comprehensive streaming rights.

WarnerMedia News & Sports Chairman Jeff Zucker said the agreement "brings one of the most prestigious championships in sports to TNT and fuels our entire Turner Sports and Bleacher Report portfolio with even more premium content for many years to come."

The NHL received $350 million in broadcast revenue from NBC ($250 million) and Disney Streaming Services ($100 million for digital rights) this season. The upcoming deals will average $635 million a year ($410 million from Disney and $225 million from Turner).

It marks the first time since Turner broadcast Atlanta Flames games in the late 1970′s that the cable giant will air hockey. It also gives Turner its second championship property (it alternates the men's Final Four with CBS).

Turner now has the rights to three of the four major North American sports — NBA games are on TNT and baseball is on TBS.

{coyotes} Sharks beat Coyotes 6-4 to snap eight-game losing streak

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) Alexander Barabanov scored his first NHL goal to help the San Jose Sharks beat the Arizona Coyotes 6-4 on Monday in the Sharks' first home game with fans in attendance in 13 months.

Rookie goalie Josef Korenar made 21 saves and earned his first NHL victory as San Jose snapped an eight-game losing streak, its longest since 2005.

Logan Couture, Erik Karlsson, Brent Burns and Noah Gregor all scored as the Sharks jumped out to a 4-0 lead by early in the second period. But they needed Barabanov's goal 11:17 of the third to help fend off a Coyotes comeback.

Arizona fought back from a 4-0 deficit on goals from Michael Bunting, Clayton Keller and Jakob Chychrun to pull within one. After Barabanov's goal made it 5-3, Chychrun scored his second goal of the night with 4:44 left in the third to make it 5-4.

Evander Kane added an empty-netter for San Jose with 8 seconds remaining.

Adin Hill made 15 saves for Arizona after replacing Darcy Kuemper, who was pulled in the second period after San Jose's fourth goal.

The Sharks rewarded the small crowd that was allowed into SAP Center for the first time this season, as COVID-19 restrictions in California forced San Jose to play in front of empty seats at home until Monday.

WELCOME BACK

A crowd of 520 was announced as the Sharks played their first home game in front of the general public since March 8, 2020. Families of players and staff were allowed in for Saturday's loss to Minnesota.

The team is limiting attendance per state and county guidelines. Fans needed to show proof of a full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to be admitted Monday.

Sharks players received a standing ovation as they took the ice for pregame warmups

{coyotes} AP sources: Turner Sports gets rights to second NHL package

Turner Sports is the surprise winner of the National Hockey League's second television package.

The two sides have agreed on a seven-year contract that includes three Stanley Cup Finals, two people familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. The people spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because the contract had not been finalized.

Turner Sports and the NHL had no immediate comment on the deal, which was first reported by Sports Business Journal.

The agreement with Turner will give the NHL two network partners in the United States for the first time since 1998-99. The league reached agreement with Walt Disney Corp. last month that includes four Stanley Cup Finals, 25 regular-season games on ESPN and ABC, the NHL All-Star game and comprehensive streaming rights.

The NHL received $350 million in broadcast revenue from NBC ($250 million) and Disney Streaming Services ($100 million for digital rights) this season. The upcoming deals will average $635 million per year ($410 million from Disney and $225 million from Turner).

It marks the first time since Turner aired Atlanta Flames games in the late 1970′s that the cable giant will air hockey. It also gives Turner its second championship property (it alternates the men's Final Four with CBS). It also gives Turner the rights to three of the four major North American sports; NBA games air on TNT while baseball is on TBS.

When the Stanley Cup Finals air on Turner in 2023, it will mark the first time since 1994 that they will be only on cable. Turner will also air regular-season games, half of the first- and second-round playoff games as well as a conference final series.

The agreement also means NBC's run of covering the league will end after this season's playoffs. NBC has aired games since 2005 and is in the final season of a 10-year contract.

{coyotes} Kuemper, Coyotes beat Kings 4-0 to stay in playoff chase

LOS ANGELES (AP) Phil Kessel had a goal and an assist, Darcy Kuemper made 26 saves for his second shutout of the season, nd the Arizona Coyotes defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-0 on Saturday night.

John Hayden, Lawson Crouse and Jakob Chychrun also scored, helping the Coyotes remain fourth in the West Division. Arizona is one point ahead of St. Louis, which beat Colorado 5-3 earlier in the day, for the final playoff spot.

It was Kuemper's 20th career shutout.

Cal Petersen made 36 saves for the Kings, who fell seven points behid the Coyotes.

Hayden beat Petersen with a wrist shot from the left circle to put the Coyotes ahead 1-0 12:47 into the first period. It was Hayden's first goal since March 7, 2020, when he was playing for New Jersey.

Arizona doubled its lead 36 seconds into the second period when Crouse redirected Alex Goligoski's shot in for his fourth goal.

Chychrun made it 3-0 with a thunderous slap shot on a power play at 4:19 of the third.

Kessel stole the puck in the neutral zone and went top shelf with a wrist shot for the 4-0 final at 12:56, putting him two points away from reaching 900 for his career.

Arizona was largely able to contain Los Angeles' offense, even as the desperate Kings were playing to preserve their playoff hopes after losing 4-2 to Minnesota on Friday. While they piled up 42 shots and plenty of scoring chances against the Wild, the Coyotes held the Kings to few genuinely challenging looks on Kuemper.

On the rare occasions when the Kings did create Kuemper was ready, including turning away the backhand shot on Austin Wagner's breakaway late in the second period.

GOOD NUMBER

Coyotes forward Derick Brassard got his 500th career point with an assist on Hayden's goal. Brassard has 194 goals and 306 assists in 897 games.

NO RAANTA

With Antti Raanta not available because of an upper-body injury, Adin Hill backed up Kuemper. Raanta, who has played in 12 games this season because of injuries, is day-to-day.

{coyotes} NHL targeting Oct. 12 start date for 2021-22 season

General managers met virtually Wednesday to discuss a variety of topics pertaining to this season and the 2021-22 NHL season.

First, the league is targeting an Oct. 12 start date for next season, Darren Dreger reported during Wednesday Night Hockey. Training camps would begin Sept. 22, with both dates needing approval from the NHLPA before becoming a part of the league's critical date calendar. (Things could also change depending how COVID-19 rates go and the efficiency of the vaccine rollout.)

The 2020-21 NHL season will end in mid-July, so it's understandable next season would be delayed a bit. The Seattle Kraken have waited this long. What's another week?

Aside from next season's start date, there was also some discussion about the 2022 Olympics. While the NHL and NHLPA came to an agreement in the Collective Bargaining Agreement that the league would pursue player participation for the Beijing Games next February, a deal still needs to be worked out with the International Olympic Committee and the International Ice Hockey Federation.

According to Dreger, the NHL would probably like to know which way the IOC/IIHF are going by the end of May. In order for the league to begin mocking up a schedule for next season it needs to know if a February Olympic break will have to be worked into the 82-game campaign.

{coyotes} Garland week to week for Coyotes with lower-body injury

Conor Garland is week to week for the Arizona Coyotes because of a lower-body injury.

The forward was injured during practice Tuesday and did not play in a 4-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday.

"He's an emotional guy," Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. "Tenacity on the ice, emotional on the bench. I like the juice that he [brings]. He likes to chirp on the bench, talk to players. We're a relatively quiet team. When he's out it gets quieter, so we need other guys to get out of character and talk more.

"He's always around the net. He's a pest around the net. It's hard to find those guys that are pests out there. He's a guy that jumps on the forecheck. He's one of our better players."

Garland leads the Coyotes with 22 assists and has scored 32 points in 45 games. He has not scored a goal in his past 10 games.

Arizona also is without forward Tyler Pitlick, who has missed the past two games because of a lower-body injury. He has scored 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 38 games and leads Coyotes forwards with 2:06 of shorthanded ice time per game.

"I don't think any single person is going to bring what [Garland] brings, or do what Pitlick does," Coyotes forward Dryden Hunt said. "I think they're unique players and they bring a lot to our team. It's kind of got to be a host of people [filling the voids]. We've had different guys stepping up. … All 12 [forwards] are going to have to step up because those guys are unique players."

The Coyotes (20-22-5) next play at the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. They are fourth in the eight-team Honda West Division, one point ahead of the fifth-place St. Louis Blues, who have four games in hand. The top four teams will qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

{coyotes} Kiprizov sets rookie goal mark, Wild beat Coyotes 4-1

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Kirill Kripizov scored a dazzling goal to break Minnesota's rookie record, Cam Talbot stopped 39 shots and the Wild stretched their winning streak to five games with a 4-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday night.

The Wild withstood a big initial flurry by Arizona and an early goal by Christian Dvorak in a tight-checking game. Kevin Fiala and Marcus Foligno each scored to put the Wild up, then Kiprizov deked Arizona goalie Darcy Kuemper out of the crease and scored on a wraparound.

It was Kiprizov's 19th goal, breaking Marian Gaborik's rookie record.

''There was a lot of hype about him coming in and you never know for sure until you actually see a player how he's going to adjust, not only to the hockey, but everything off the ice, too,'' Wild center Nico Sturm said. ''It's undeniable he's taken this team to the next level with his play.''

Talbot was solid all night, making some big saves down the stretch, and Sturm added an empty-net goal. Minnesota has a 16-point cushion over the Coyotes for third in the West Division.

''It's the best time of the year,'' Talbot said. ''This is where you have to start building for the playoffs, ramping up your game and making sure you're tightening up the little areas you need to tighten up because the playoffs are a different animal.''

The Coyotes dominated early and had a season-high shots with 40, but couldn't get anything else past Talbot after Dvorak's goal in losing for the seventh time in eight games. Kuemper stopped 18 shots for Arizona, which has a one-point lead over St. Louis for the West Division's final playoff spot.

''We had some good chances, we hit some posts,'' Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. ''We deserved a better fate, but these were the game results.''

The Coyotes were in good playoff position less than a month ago, before six losses in five games allowed St. Louis to catch them.

Arizona missed an opportunity to build on its one-point lead over the Blues on Monday, losing 5-2 to the Wild.

The Coyotes swarmed the Wild early in Wednesday's game, firing 11 of the first 12 shots. Dvorak scored at the end of a power-play flurry midway through the first period, banking in a rebound off the back of Talbot's leg.

''I wasn't happy with the goal - you never want to let in a goal that goes in off you,'' Talbot said. ''I just tried to stay focused, stop the next one and we'd battle back like we always do.''

Arizona kept up the pressure, but couldn't get anything past Talbot. Dryden Hunt also had a shot that hit the crossbar and post.

Fiala tied it early in the second period, one-timing a pass from Sturm on a 2-on-1. Foligno opened the third period by getting a puck under Kuemper on a short breakaway.

Arizona turned up the pressure again late, but Kirprizov and Sturm put it out of reach.

''We have to be happy with shot total, but at some point, it's got to go in for us,'' Hunt said. ''I thought for the most part it was a pretty solid game with just a few lapses. Puck luck didn't go our way.''

{coyotes} Talbot stops 22 shots, Wild beat Coyotes 5-2

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Kevin Fiala had a goal and an assist, Cam Talbot stopped 22 shots and the Minnesota Wild stretched their winning streak to four games with a 5-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night.

Kirill Kaprizov, Jordan Greenway and Marcus Johansson also scored to help the Wild strengthen their playoff position. Minnesota has 59 points, 14 ahead of fourth-place Arizona in the West Division.

Jonas Brodin added an empty-net goal for Minnesota.

Christian Fischer scored his first goal in 48 regular-season games and Alex Goligoski also scored for the Coyotes, who had numerous defensive breakdowns in losing for the sixth time in seven games. Darcy Kuemper stopped 19 shots.

Arizona had an emotional game on Saturday, playing after 9-year-old Leighton Accardo was posthumously inducted into the team's ring of honor.

The Coyotes took a while to regain their focus, falling into a two-goal hole against St. Louis before rallying for a 3-2 win to leapfrog the Blues for fourth in the West.

The Wild, fresh off winning three straight home games, had the early jump on the Coyotes and scored on tic-tac-toe passing to Kaprizov for his 18th goal, matching Marian Gaborik's team rookie record. He also broke Gaborik's rookie record with his 37th point.

Fischer tied it late in the period, beating Talbot to the glove side after picking off a pass by Ryan Suter at the top of the circles for his first regular-season goal since Feb. 19, 2020.

Greenway scored early the second period, one-timing a pass from Marcus Foligno after a breakdown by the Coyotes in the neutral zone.

Johansson made it 3-1 midway through the period, chipping a rebound between Kuemper's pads on a power play. Carson Soucy appeared to push the lead to three goals a minute later, but it was waved off for goalie interference against Foligno.

Goligoski pulled the Coyotes within one 1:15 into the third period on a shot from the left circle Talbot couldn't see through Fischer's screen.

The Wild went back up by two with a screen of their own when Kuemper was unable to see Fiala's shot with two players in front.

UP NEXT

The Wild are 6-1 against the Coyotes heading into Wednesday's season series finale.
