Presumably the world md11 being scrapped was n275wa or n273wa.
Given that n273wa only flew from bwi in early november, i would be surprised if they are already scrapping it.

Subject: [cactuswings 2669] LOG - Phoenix Area (December 2013)

There were a few aircraft of note on an early Wednesday afternoon.

United Express EM2 N585SW gapfiller!
…plus a Lufthansa A330/340 (could only see top of fin).
AZA (12/5/2013)
I had a bit more luck than on my last visit to Mesa-Gateway where exactly zero aircraft went into the book. Still, there were slim pickings.
Allegiant 319 N302NV
Allegiant M80 N884GA
Allegiant M80 N892GA
Allegiant M80 #406
M80 N305FA blue tail c/s, no titles
PHX (12/5/2013)
In the mid-afternoon I saw a mystery DHC-8 on final. Also, there were also a LOT of cargo aircraft (holiday rush!) and KC-135s about this week - there must be an exercise going on.
GYR (12/6/2013)
A morning visit to Goodyear was quite successful as frigid temperatures and perfect light made reading registrations much easier. I wasn't paying attention to exact liveries btw. Philosophical question - do I take credit for airplanes for which I didn't get the reg but that I can definitively identify?!!
Hangar/Scrap Pad
Air France 320 FGFKJ classic c/s
Blue Dart 75F VTBDQ presumably the former Mint a/c?
Erickson M87 #103
Hawaiian 763 N585HA ready for final scrapping
Singapore 772 N321LF now back, probably for final scrapping
Sky 734 N707DB gold c/s
United 762 N68159 complete
US Airways 734 N459UW
320 EIFDK all-white c/s, mispole for EIEDK? ID?
73_ N449KA all-white c/s
75F N720DB blue tail c/s (ex-Icelandair presumably)
…plus a World MD-11 being scrapped.
Field
aironix 735 N441LF mispole for N411LF
Blue Panorama 763 EIEED
Corsair 743 FGSKY
Hawaiian 763 N584HA
Hawaiian 763 N586HA
Omni D10 N522AX
Santa Barbara 763 YLLCY
United 752 N560UA
United 762 N76153
United 762 N68160
US Airways 734 N456UW
World M11 N277WA
XL Airways 320 FGKHK
VarigLog 75F N235WD
762 HSKOA
…notable others included a Windrose A320 (full c/s, reg painted over), a Bluebird 737, a Sriwijawa 737, and a UTair 737.
Terminal
Arriving while I was there was a PT-registered Embraer Legacy 500.
PHX (12/6/2013)
There wasn't much of interest and fatigue really took its toll – I'm pretty sure that I botched the one aircraft seen of interest.
CRJ N407AW all-white c/s, in Mesa hangar, likely N407SW
