The Chicago Blackhawks remain the Las Vegas favourites to claim a second straight Stanley Cup according to new odds released by Bodog on Wednesday. The defending champions were the 7/1 favourites on June 16 and see their odds improved at 13/2 in the latest listing.
Nine teams saw their odds improve since the June listing, but the biggest jump in odds goes to the Dallas Stars following the offseason acquisitions of Patrick Sharp, Antti Niemi and Johnny Oduya, all three former Blackhawks. On June 16, the Stars were listed at 66/1 and now find themselves at 28/1.
Twelve teams saw their odds worsen with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Arizona Coyotes seeing their odds go from 66/1 to 100/1 and 100/1 to 150/1, respectively.
As for the other Canadian teams, the Montreal Canadiens have the best odds at 18/1, down from 14/1 in June. The Calgary Flames rise from 40/1 to 28/1, the same odds as the Winnipeg Jets, who are down from 25/1. The Edmonton Oilers are steady at 40/1, while the Ottawa Senators see a jump from 50/1 to 40/1. The Vancouver Canucks see a drop from 40/1 to 66/1.
