COYOTES (28-32-6) at CANUCKS (25-28-12)
TV: 10 p.m. ET; FS-A PLUS, SNP, NHL.TV
Season series: The Vancouver Canucks and Arizona Coyotes have played three one-goal games, with Vancouver winning two. Daniel Sedin has two goals for Vancouver, and Henrik Sedin has three assists. Shane Doan has two goals for Arizona (each in a 3-2 win Jan. 4), and Tobias Rieder has a goal and two assists.
Coyotes team scope: The status of defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson is uncertain after he was injured in a 3-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Monday. Ekman-Larsson, Arizona's leading scorer (19 goals, 30 assists), collided with Avalanche forward Matt Duchene and hit the boards early in the third period. Defenseman Zbynek Michalek (upper body) was scratched Monday, did not practice Tuesday, but is OK to play, coach Dave Tippett told The Arizona Republic. Forward Kyle Chipchura missed the game Monday to be with his wife for the birth of their daughter but is expected to play. Forward Martin Hanzal was given the day off from practice but will play, Tippett said.
Canucks team scope: Forward Henrik Sedin (upper body) and defenseman Chris Tanev (upper body), who did not play Monday in a 5-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, will not play, coach Willie Desjardins told the Canucks website. Desjardins did not rule out either for the next game, Saturday at home against the Nashville Predators. Center Bo Horvat has eight goals and 19 points in his past 27 games, after two goals and 10 points in his first 38. "A lot of 20-year-olds around the League aren't in my position and having to play such a big role, trying to be a leader at such a young age," Horvat told the Sun. "But I try to embrace it. It's just going to make me stronger mentally and physically as a player.
