Former NHLer Wojtek Wolski suffered a severe injury this week in a KHL game when he slid head first into the boards. He fractured two vertebrae and sustained a concussion and remains in intensive care.

The 30-year-old native of Poland is in hospital where his condition is being monitored.
The KHL has announced that he will miss the remainder of the season.
Wolski has been playing in the Russian league for the past four seasons after last appearing in the NHL with the Washington Capitals. He previously played for the Colorado Avalanche, Phoenix Coyotes, New York Rangers and Florida Panthers, scoring 267 points in 451 career games.
