Dave I have accessed the west side . It's best to drive over through the factories . As a note , the large building opposite the scrapping area is for sale at .15 cents a square foot . If anyone questions you ( no one will ) but if the do , tell them you are interested in buying the building and you are figuring out what you would need to drag aircraft back to the building . Now if you wish to venture outside , bring a 4wheel drive truck with at least 15"-18" of space between the ground and truck . No running boards permitted . You can drive the perimeter by the cow pasture , but you need to drive at a slow pace as rainwater run off causes " awash " which is a dried up river that is not marked . I buried a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee back there , but you can drive through them if you know how to climb rocks and hills at slow speed . Over near the pump house in the west field is a good entrance to all of the CJs . Sometimes on weekends the scrapping area is left open . There is no security at all here . People still live on the N/E corner by the big tear down hangar . 

Please wear a wide brimmed hat , long sleeves   Denim or Carhart pants for cacti contact , wear ankle high boots as Snakes and Scorpions live out there . 2 cases of water , buy sodium pills from CVS or Walmart , this will keep you from cramping up . Make sure the air filter in your vehicle is clean and sand free as you will burn more fuel as sand clogs it up . You will not be able to access the north scrapping area as it is sealed off with security and cameras . Stock up on supplies on Route 66/40 .

Be Advised : 

If you run into kids in their cars  , move away and do not intereact with them at all , they are cooking methamphetamine in the trunks of their cars .

If you took a walk, you are in the desert. Take full precautions like sun screen, and take lots of water to make sure you are hydrated.
