After a quiet day on Monday, the NHL and NHL Players' Association spoke on Tuesday night and, while there are no meetings scheduled, the two sides plan on talking again on Wednesday.
The current Collective Bargaining Agreement expired on Saturday night and the NHL owners subsequently locked out the players.
A number of players, including Evgeni Malkin, Alexander Ovechkin, Rick Nash, Pavel Datsyuk and Ilya Kovalchuk have already signed contracts to play overseas until an agreement is reached.
It's the NHL's fourth work stoppage in 20 years.
