New Ham Guide
When new hams join up, there are many misconceptions that you need an expensive radio. There are those who go searching on the internet for info on what radio to purchase, or what radio they need. These are all great questions and one that stumps most people. They see or hear about a particular radio from a "friend" or a relative. Or they go to a club meeting and see someone with a particular type of radio and...

Walter, MarkThe day I saw JKIA235F, I also saw N77NJ 35A-658 and N99NJ 35A-481, so the 2 'new' Lear 35's can be discounted as can the old N99NJ 25XR-220 which is current as N969AR and was seen earlier in the week at KFXE. N88NJ 25D-294 became N881J and was parted out by Dodson Aviation, Rantoul, KS around 2006. This has been reported at Rantoul so also can be discounted.N33NJ 35A-305, N44NJ 45-147 and N66NJ 35A-296 have all...
Re: [cactuswings 2985] Re: Quartszite Roadrunner
As Alan mentioned, the old Lear 25 N77NJ fuselage could have been used
as a tech trainer and kept around at National Jets....especially noting
it is possibly the same paint scheme. I don't see any reference of it
as necessarily broken up...only deregistered and "scrapped" in 2003.
I am not saying it is or it is not this aircraft. The aircraft in
discussion could be a Lear 35 that was parted out at National Jets.

Re: [cactuswings 2984] Re: Quartszite Roadrunner
Walter,
I'm not getting mixed up!
The new N77LJ has been current since 2004. I have the old N77NJ (25-033) being broken up years ago.
The old N99NJ is current as N969AR and I saw this at Executive last June.
I saw the current N99NJ (35A-481) at FLL last June parked up by the National Jets hangar.
Hope that clears it up

Re: [cactuswings 2983] Re: Quartszite Roadrunner
Hi Mark,
There is a new N77NJ...a Lear 35 that is active at National Jets that
replaced the Lear 25.
There was also a N99NJ Lear 25. It has also been replaced with a Lear
35 with the same registration.
Don't forget that aircraft are kept in hang'a'rs while clothes are hung
on hang'e'rs...:).

Alan,
N77NJ is active so it can't be that one!
N99NJ was noted by myself at FLL last year. Parked at the side of the National Jets hanger. It was on the left hand side of the hanger when you turn in from perimeter road.

Hi Mark and WalterI saw the Lear JKIA235F at KFLL on 25th Jan 2014, also saw N237AF at KFXE on the same day.Having checked my original notes, it was as Walter suggests JKIA235F on the nose wheel door, unfortunately I didn't photograph it, however, colour scheme was like this:http://www.airliners.net/photo/Lear-Jet-25/0767467/L/&sid=56e6ebcb8f4caa8f36975b45ebe96505This may in fact be the actual aircraft, it was cancelled...

Re: [cactuswings 2977] Re: Quartszite Roadrunner
JKIA237F is the FAA Part 135 Commercial Air Carrier Certificate Number. National Jet's FAA Certificate as a Part 135 Commercial Air Carrier is JKIA235F and would be present on all of their aircraft. Perhaps it was ...235F instead of 237F? Since operators will not advertise their company on the outside of the airplane, this is shown so Joe Customer can complain or Mr....
Re: [cactuswings 2976] Re: Quartszite Roadrunner
Alan,
Do you have a photo of it?
We were there last June and I don't remember not identifying an old Lear but I didn't log anything from a nose wheel either although 2 ex Ameriflight Learjets were parked at National Jets and one is N237AF which is similar to what you read from the nose wheel.
