Season series: Antoine Vermette's hat trick led the Arizona Coyotes to a 4-2 win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Dec. 29 at Gila River Arena. The teams have alternated wins and losses in their past four games. It will be the Coyotes' first game in Philadelphia since Oct. 11, 2013.

Coyotes team scope: The Coyotes, who have lost six straight games (0-5-1) arrived in Philadelphia on Monday and immediately jumped on the ice. They haven't played since Jan. 20, so getting a full practice prior to playing Tuesday was vital to coach Dave Tippett. "It would have been tough to jump into a game without skating for seven days," Tippett said. "We needed to get in here. Fortunately the weather gave us this opportunity." Tippett said he expected to have All-Star defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson in the lineup Tuesday. He said despite the number of flights to the Northeast being canceled because of the snowstorm hitting the area, Ekman-Larsson flew into Washington on Monday afternoon and was taking the train to Philadelphia. The Coyotes also recalled forward Lucas Lessio and defenseman Andrew Campbell from Portland of the American Hockey League on Monday. Lessio, 22, has one goal and one assist in nine NHL games. Campbell played one game earlier this season.

Flyers team scope: Ryan White finally could make his debut with Philadelphia on Tuesday. Signed to add depth on the fourth line, he tore a pectoral muscle during offseason workouts. While he recovered, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare emerged as the center on a solid fourth line, pushing White off the roster. But with Zac Rinaldo suspended for eight games for a boarding and charging incident against the Pittsburgh Penguins' Kris Letang on Jan. 20, the Flyers recalled White on Monday. "I'm excited," White said Monday, according to CSNPhilly.com. "Just hoping that weather-permitting, we get that game going tomorrow and I'm hoping for the best." The Flyers were missing four key players from practice Monday. Forwards Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek were given the day off while traveling back from the 2015 Honda NHL All-Star Game in Columbus, and forward Michael Raffl and goaltender Steve Mason were sick. Mason, who has missed the past five games because of a lower-body injury, was not expected to play Tuesday. If Raffl can't go, the Flyers would need to recall another forward.
