Defenseman David Schlemko was claimed off waivers by the Dallas Stars on Saturday.
"David will add veteran depth and a solid puck-mover to our blue line," Stars general manager Jim Nill told the Dallas website. "This gives us the flexibility to keep our young defensemen playing, whether here or in Texas [American Hockey League]."
Schlemko, 27, had one goal and four points in 20 games with the Arizona Coyotes this season. He also had four points in two games with the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League.
In parts of seven seasons with the Coyotes, Schlemko had nine goals and 50 points in 207 games.
