COYOTES (14-6-4) at WILD (15-6-4)

TV: KTVK, FS-N, FS-WI

Last 10: Phoenix 5-3-2; Minnesota 7-2-1

Season series: This is the first of three games this season. The Minnesota Wild were 2-1-0 against the Phoenix Coyotes in 2012-13.

Big story: One of the most dependable players in franchise history may not be able to go Wednesday as Coyotes captain Shane Doan left the game Monday against the Nashville Predators with a lower-body injury and did not participate in practice Tuesday. Doan, who is considered day-to-day, had an eight-game scoring streak stopped in the 4-2 loss at Nashville.

The Wild seek to extend their home winning streak to seven when Phoenix visits Wednesday and may be without the services of leading scorer Zach Parise, who left the game Monday against the St. Louis Blues after taking an Alex Steen slap shot to the foot.

Team Scope:

Coyotes: Phoenix will try to break a three-game losing streak with the playing status of Doan remaining unclear as of Tuesday afternoon. Kyle Chipchura skated in Doan's place at practice Tuesday. Doan has been in top shape over most of his 18-year career with the Phoenix/Winnipeg franchise and has missed just 38 out of a possible 1,055 games since the 1998-99 season. While Doan is second on the team with 19 points this season (11 goals, eight assists), the 37-year-old wing gave much of the credit for the offensive success to his teammates.

"Everyone on our team seems to be doing more offensively, and I seem to be reaping the benefits out there with the guys that are doing a lot offensively," Doan told azcentral.com Wednesday. "If you look at my goals, they're like tip-ins and redirections, bang-in rebounds. There isn't anything that's super fancy. It's pretty simple."

Wild: Minnesota is second in the Western Conference with 22 home points this season, including a current six-game winning streak, but the biggest concern now is with the status of Parise. The results of the evaluation on Parise by team doctors was not released as of late Tuesday afternoon, but the left wing wasn't too anxious when interviewed after the 3-0 loss at St. Louis.

"You try not to get too worried about it until you find out what's really wrong," Parise said.

Who's hot: Martin Hanzal has two goals and three assists over his past four games for the Coyotes. … Wild captain Mikko Koivu has three goals and six assists over his past seven games.

Injury report: Besides Doan, winger Lauri Korpikoski (upper body) and defenseman Zbynek Michalek (lower body) are injured for Phoenix. … The Wild are dealing with a few question marks for Wednesday. In addition to Parise, goalie Josh Harding (lower body) and forwards Torrey Mitchell (leg) and Mikael Granlund (upper body) are questionable. Defenseman Keith Ballard is out indefinitely with a leg injury.
