I had a Schnozz tour in 1991 ... His office was jam packed of souvenirs / gifts from folk who had visited previously, a top bloke ...

Another instance came during a convention in Phoenix (either the '95 A-I or one of the local ones), which included a tour at MZJ.  Due to a misunderstanding, our coach driver, who was supposed to remain with us during the lunch break and then drive us to the ramp to continue our tour, left to eat elsewhere, leaving us high and dry.  Schnozz got on his phone and made one call and in a very short time a (rather antiquated) school-type bus from one of the operations on the field arrived to deliver us to the ramp.
 
I have never talked to anyone who met or otherwise dealt with Schnozz that didn't like him and mourn, first his retirement and then his passing.  One friend, a professional photographer, said any number of times that he was the only one on the staff of that airport who actually knew how to deal with people.

When Schnooz gave us a tour in 1987, he should us a clip book of newspaper articles,( during a coffee break) and one was written by a journalist who was refused entry.


It continued,"I asked at the gate for Schnooz and he arrived, he refused me permission then took off his shoe to ring boss to confirm his decision".Schnooz asked us did we remember Get Smart 

After that he gave us an excellent tour in his people carrier, and took one of our windy colleagues to look for rattle snakes under the shade of the Aircraft.

Long live Schnooz's memory, great access in those days.

Reminds me of a 'gag' shot at a slide show decades ago:  A much-parted-out Eastern 727 shot at Marana to which the slide photographer quipped:  "Here's the Eastern flight I was on last week".
As far as the 'boneyard' (AMARC) goes, Pima Air & Space Museum offers weekend bus tours of the facility during the cooler months of the year.
