The "to the point" reason I got several years ago at VCV...."the airlines do not want photos taken of their aircraft".
My reply..."fine, I will just take photos through the fence" as I was turning and walking out the door.
There is more "government/military" at VCV than there is at MZJ, so I agree strongly or even suggest it is anything military related at MZJ.
I have heard several times it's just that the airlines have supposedly passed along that they don't want images of their derelict (or "boarded-up"...i.e. stored) aircraft circulating because Joe Internet Surfer might actually believe the are still part of the operational fleet.
It's more known the logos are merely covered/removed because the aircraft are no longer part of the company as they protect their integrity of their trademark. It's also a liability issue should something happen to the aircraft at the boneyard, the name is not displayed. No different than an airline attempting to cover up their logo at the accident scene.

I like to think that I'm fairly well informed of what goes on at MZJ, but couldn't help but notice that you've brought it up twice without going in to any useful detail. What is this "military work" that you speak of?

Registrations painted out is done at most storage facilities and has absolutely nothing to do with the military work that goes on at Marana
Do not add 1 and 1 and come up with 36!
