The National Hockey League and the NHL Players' Association are tentatively set to resume collective bargaining negotiations on Tuesday.
The two sides, who met on Saturday at an undisclosed location, seemingly made enough progress to warrant another round of meetings.
According to TSN's Aaron Ward, the NHLPA will have a conference call on Monday afternoon with their executive board and negotiating committee.
NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly and NHLPA general counsel Steve Fehr had talks on Saturday after more than two weeks of silence.
"We had a series of meetings yesterday (Saturday) and exchanged views on the most important issues separating us," wrote Daly in an email to TSN on Sunday morning. "We plan to meet again sometime early this week."
Fehr sent out a release later Sunday morning saying that he agreed with how Daly summed up the session.
"Hopefully we can continue the dialogue, expand the group, and make steady progress," said Fehr.
The lockout reached its 51st day on Monday. There have already been 327 games cancelled - including the New Year's Day Winter Classic that was wiped out Friday - and the NHL has said it will be impossible to play a full 82-game season.
