{coyotes} Canucks' Edler faces hearing for charge vs. Coyotes

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Alexander Edler faces a hearing with the Department of Player Safety on Friday evening.

The following grounds for potential supplemental discipline are being considered: Charging/Goalie Interference. The incident occurred at the 18:17 mark of the second period during a game Thursday night against the Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena.

Edler was assessed a five-minute major for charging after running into Phoenix goaltender Mike Smith behind the Coyotes net.

Vancouver won the game, 2-1.
