The Edmonton Oilers have acquired forward Kale Kessy from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for forward Tobias Rieder.
Kessy has scored 21 goals and 22 assists in 60 games this season with the Kamloops Blazers, Medicine Hat Tigers and Vancouver Giants of the WHL.
Rieder recorded 27 goals and 29 assists with 12 penalty minutes in 52 games with the OHL's Kitchener Rangers this season. Last season, he led the OHL with 13 goals and 14 assists in 16 postseason games.
Rieder was originally drafted by the Oilers in the fourth round (114 overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
