DEVILS (28-29-11) at COYOTES (21-39-8)

TV: MSG+ 2, FS-A

Season series: Cory Schneider made 38 saves and Mike Cammalleri scored two goals to give the New Jersey Devils a 3-0 victory against the Arizona Coyotes 19 days ago in Newark, N.J. Scott Gomez also scored for the Devils.

Devils team scope: Forwards Cammalleri (upper body), Patrik Elias (foot) and Steve Bernier (foot) and defenseman Damon Severson (upper body) were at practice on Friday after sustaining minor ailments in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, according to Northjersey.com. Devils interim co-coach Lou Lamoriello returned behind the bench with co-coaches Adam Oates and Scott Stevens after opting to watch the game against the Minnesota Wild two nights earlier from the press box. Lamoriello is uncertain whether he'll attend the NHL general manager meetings, which run Monday through Wednesday in Boca Raton, Fla., according to Northjersey.com. The Devils are 4-7 in the shootout this season; they finished 0-13 in 2013-14. Schneider, who will start, made 28 saves in regulation and overtime. Defenseman Andy Greene has two goals and six points in the past six games.

Coyotes team scope: Defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson, who did not practice on Friday, is day-to-day with an upper-body injury sustained late in the third period of a 2-1 home loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday. Ekman-Larsson skated off the ice favoring his right shoulder after being checked hard into the boards from behind by Chicago's Joakim Nordstrom in the final minute of the game. Coyotes coach Dave Tippett reaffirmed Friday that the injury is not serious and said he hopes Ekman-Larsson will play against the Devils. Goaltender Mike Smith made 43 saves, including 32 in the first two periods, against Chicago. The Coyotes have lost 13 of the past 14 games (1-12-1) and have been outscored 48-19 during that stretch. "We compete hard," Tippett told Azcentral.com. "There's no qualms about the effort or the try, but [against Chicago] we could have played way smarter. We could have executed better and that's frustrating."
