GLENDALE, Ariz. -- James Neal scored at 2:45 of overtime and the Nashville Predators ended a six-game losing streak with a 2-1 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Monday.
Neal slammed home a rebound of a shot by defenseman Seth Jones for his 22nd goal.
Goalie Pekka Rinne made 27 saves for Nashville, which earned its first point since defeating the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 24. Nashville is tied with the Anaheim Ducks for the most points (91) in the Western Conference and NHL. The Ducks lost 2-1 to the Vancouver Canucks.
Rinne has not allowed a goal in 13 overtime periods this season. He didn't have to face a shot this time before Neal beat Arizona rookie goalie Louis Domingue. It was the Predators' fifth shot in overtime.
Paul Gaustad scored early in the second period to give the Predators a 1-0 lead.
Kyle Chipchura tied the game with a power-play goal 7:27 into the third period.
Nashville went 0-for-5 on the power play and is 2-for-34 over the past 11 games, but still managed to defeat Arizona for the third time in as many games this season.
The Coyotes (21-39-7) have lost 12 of their past 13 games overall and 11 of 12 at Gila River Arena.
Domingue, who made 38 saves, had his shutout streak of 106 minutes, 28 seconds end on Gaustad's goal. He had a busy first minute -- the first shot hit him in the mask, the second hit the post behind him -- and the Predators kept up the pressure with 13 shots on goal in the first period.
But Nashville failed to capitalize on a 5-on-3 opportunity and three power-play chances in all during the opening period.
Renne made nine saves in the first, including a few tough ones. He gloved a Shane Doan shot from the slot before stopping Sam Gagner's backhand and Oliver Ekman-Larsson's rebound try late in the period.
The Coyotes came out strong in the second period. David Moss rang a shot off the left post from the left circle.
Taylor Beck fanned on a shot attempt from the slot, and the puck skidded toward the net. Gaustad reached around Arizona defenseman John Moore and swatted the puck between Domingue's pads at 3:26 for his third goal. It was the Predators' first lead since Feb. 28 against the Detroit Red Wings and the first time they scored the first goal in a game since Feb. 14 against the New Jersey Devils.
The Coyotes kept coming and got their chance to tie the game in the third period when Neal was assessed a double minor for high sticking after he cut Doan's face.
Moore's feed into the slot was deflected by Chipchura and fluttered over Rinne's glove at 7:27. It was Arizona's first goal in 129 minutes, 56 seconds, dating to B.J. Crombeen's third-period goal in a 3-2 shootout win against the Vancouver Canucks on March 5.
