a hearty breakfast must have had an impact on the thunder clouds, as our pilot showed up at 11am wondering what the fuss was about. The overflight was on!! Indeed we were the only flight they were taking up that day as they had cancelled everything else due to thunder. Somehow the thunder held off for 90 mins enabling us to overfly DM and MZJ.

We managed 2 "figure 8" loops of DM where we are still trawling through photos to ID what we wanted and similar 2 circuits of MZJ. The main target there for me was my last Delta 747 which Id slackly missed in service, as well as a Skymark A330. We had an additional bonus of the 3 spanking new Hainans fresh from Boeing and the usual selection of 747-800s.

I do have a request as Ive been unable to ID or trace the 2 Viva Aerobus 737-300s which were parked close to the runway. They looked in fairly good nick and could be recent arrivals. The reason I ask is that one possible candidate is a frame for me and was recently noted at Tucson (no longer there!!) Heres hoping! 

Ive noted all that was seen, including a lot of gaps. Im not really too bothered about the gaps with Deltas and Koreans (other than the Viva Aerobusses!!), but they may help other people, so please feel free to add if you have some knowledge.

On the way back from MZJ the thunder started up again and our Cessna got a bit wobbly. Another 15 mins and it could have got very tasty. Im glad I didnt ask for another MZJ pass. Luckily we got back to Ryan in one piece. Thanks to the brilliant Kelly Aviation for the service again (not to mention not cancelling on us, a decision that would have been understandable under the circumstances)
