COYOTES (6-6-1) at DUCKS (5-7-2)

TV: FS-A, FS-W

Season series: Rookie Anthony Duclair's first NHL hat trick and goalie Mike Smith's 37 saves led the Arizona Coyotes to a 4-0 win against the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 14 at Honda Center. It was Anaheim's first regulation loss to Arizona in 11 games.

Coyotes team scope: Anders Lindback will start in goal for Arizona. Lindback made 12 saves after Smith was pulled in the second period of a 4-1 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday. "We're going to split them anyway," coach Dave Tippett told the Arizona Republic, referring to the Coyotes' back-to-back games at Anaheim and the Los Angeles Kings. "[Lindback] played well the back half of [the game Saturday]. So that's the way we're going to go." Defenseman Nicklas Grossmann did not practice and is questionable after sustaining a lower-body injury Saturday when he collided with Rangers forward Jarret Stoll late in the first period. Forward Antoine Vermette (lower body) is likely to miss his fourth straight game. Defenseman Stefan Elliott (upper body) practiced Sunday and is close to returning. Arizona is 3-6-1 since starting 3-0-0. "It's exciting going in a tough game against a good team," Lindback said. "We really need some points here. I'm excited."

Ducks team scope: Anaheim opens a three-game homestand. The Ducks have won four straight following a 1-7-2 start and are two points behind the San Jose Sharks for third place in the Pacific Division. The Ducks did not practice Sunday after back-to-back wins at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets (4-2 on Friday) and at the San Jose Sharks (1-0 on Saturday). "It's amazing how long it takes to get over when you start off bad," coach Bruce Boudreau told the Orange County Register on Saturday. "It's still not there yet 100 percent. But every day there's some player that's getting into it. And eventually we'll have everybody going." Goalie Anton Khudobin stopped 31 shots for the shutout against the Sharks. Captain Ryan Getzlaf has four assists in two games after missing the previous four following a non-emergency appendectomy. Corey Perry has points in three straight games (2-3-5) and five of his past six after having one in his first eight games.
