Season series: Henrik Lundqvist made 34 saves in the New York Rangers' 4-1 win against the Arizona Coyotes at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 22. Defenseman Keith Yandle, acquired by New York from Arizona at the NHL Trade Deadline, had one of the Rangers' three third-period goals.

Rangers team scope: New York will go for its fifth consecutive win after holding off the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 in Denver on Friday. The Rangers are 6-0-2 in their past eight games. Lundqvist made 29 saves, including 14 in the third period when the Avalanche pressed for the tying goal. "For two periods I felt like we were the better team," Lundqvist said. "We gave up a few chances [in the third], but for the most part I thought we had it under control." Backup Antti Raanta, who has allowed one goal in his two starts, could give Lundqvist the night off on the second of back-to-back games. Forward Rick Nash didn't play Friday because of a back injury and is day-to-day.

Coyotes team scope: Yandle's former teammates are looking forward to his return to Gila River Arena. "It's going to be fun to see him again, and I think it's going to be fun for him to come here and play in this building again," longtime defense partner Oliver Ekman-Larsson told the Coyotes website. Arizona will be without center Antoine Vermette, who's been skating but isn't ready to return from a lower-body injury. Defenseman Stefan Elliott practiced Friday and may be ready to return from an upper-body injury. Mike Smith, who got the win in a 4-2 home victory against Colorado on Thursday, is expected to start in goal.
