Coyotes team scope
Arizona Coyotes captain Shane Doan, 40, needs one goal to become the 93rd player in NHL history with 400 and one assist to set a franchise record with 554. Forward Brendan Perlini, 20, will make his NHL debut after being recalled from Tucson of the American Hockey League on Sunday. The No. 12 pick in the 2014 NHL Draft was tied for the AHL lead in goals with 11. "He's had a great start to the season in the American League and has earned the right to be here," coach Dave Tippett said. "We're looking to add some speed to the lineup. We've got some back-to-back games here. We've been carrying 12 forwards for a while so to have another forward will be good." Perlini was in California on Sunday when he was promoted and arrived in Columbus at 1 a.m. Monday. "I'm playing in the NHL so I'll have endless energy," he said. "It's unbelievable. It's tough to describe the feeling." Second-year forward Anthony Duclair, who has a goal and four points in 23 games, will be a healthy scratch. "I talked to Anthony this morning just about a reset," Tippett said. "He's pressing a little bit." The Coyotes are 0-1-2 in their past three games, including a 3-2 shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets at Gila River Arena on Saturday.
Blue Jackets scope
Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to start after backup Curtis McElhinney made 32 saves against the Coyotes. Bobrovsky is 11-2-1 with a 1.96 goals-against average and .930 save percentage in his past 14 games, 11 of which he has allowed two or fewer goals. The Blue Jackets have points in five straight (4-0-1), are 8-1-2 in their past 11 games and 8-1-1 in their past 10 home games. Columbus has scored first 17 times (12-2-3), including forward Boone Jenner's goal 13 seconds into the game against Arizona. The Blue Jackets did not hold a morning skate.
