RE: [cactuswings 2182] Stored aircraft at Tupelo

Me again Geoff

Your Lufthansa 747 was probably D-ABTA which was retired last October.

Regards

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

How about a log from last Tuesday, April 9th?
Up to date enough for you?! lol

I stopped in Tupelo on Monday night, chasing N925UA, my last United 737 which has been stored there for a while! Since it was late, and I lost the light, I went back the following morning, (before the drive to Greenwood!).

The log shows N925UA isnt there. I noticed the cockpit section of a United 737 on the ground, but as I was unable to even read the fleet number, I can only assume I have lost 925!

There was only a section of one Lufthansa 747 left, from about the wing, forward to a few windows behind the cockpit. In the pile of scrap next to it, and on the section itself, there was no identifying markings, so I've no idea which of the two D-ABTx series it was..

8P-ARB & IGB would be more interesting if they werent AAL underneath!

9M-MKC of the three appeared to be in the best condition and was parked in front of the terminal, with covers on it's engines! looked like it could fly away! All three are in basic MAS c/s

G-MONR & MPCD. I made MONR over Stevenage about a week after delivery! Sad to see them both looking very sorry for themselves!

JA8956 paint is scraped off!

JA8959 enough livery so you know who it is! The registration on the public fence side has been cut out! lol

N193UA  enough livery so you know who it is!

N517UA  in full blue/white (pre COA merge) scheme

Guys

Just wondering if anyone has any recent lists for the above.

Particularly interested in the state of the stored Continental and United 737s.

I know most of the Continental ones at Walnut Ridge were due to be scrapped and any dates would be most helpful.

Many thanks
