{coyotes} Domi has hat trick, Coyotes top Oilers in OT

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Max Domi had his first NHL hat trick before Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored a power-play goal with 8.9 seconds left in overtime to give the Arizona Coyotes a 4-3 win against the Edmonton Oilers at Gila River Arena on Tuesday.

Domi snapped out of a long scoring drought when he scored 12:37 into the second period, then tied the game with two power-play goals in the third to rally Arizona from a 3-1 deficit. Domi had had gone 16 games without a goal.

Ekman-Larsson assisted on each of Domi's goals, then scored his sixth game-winner of the season when his wrist shot from the high slot beat Edmonton goalie Anders Nilsson. The Coyotes (22-16-4) got a power play with 30 seconds remaining in overtime when Edmonton forward Taylor Hall was called for high sticking.

Leon Draisaitl, Justin Schultz and Benoit Pouliot each had a goal and an assist for Edmonton (17-23-4). Jordan Eberle assisted on all three goals for the Oilers, who scored two power-play goals after going 5-for-50 with the extra man in their past 19 games. Edmonton has lost 10 of its past 13 games.

The Coyotes extended their point streak against the Oilers to a franchise-record 21 games (17-0-4) and improved to 10-1-2 against Pacific Division opponents this season. They are 8-1-2 in their past 11 games overall.

Arizona rookie Louis Domingue made 25 saves and is 7-0-2 in his nine starts. Nilsson made 27 saves.

The Oilers got the only goal of a slow-paced first period, scoring off the rush after an Arizona mistake.

Pouliot pushed the puck past pinching defenseman Connor Murphy and sent Eberle away. Eberle found a trailing Draisaitl charging into the slot, and Draisaitl used a late screen from Mark Fayne to beat Domingue to the glove side at 18:43. It was Draisaitl's 10th goal of the season and his first in 15 games.

Edmonton's power play snapped its slump at 6:13 of the second period with Arizona defenseman Klas Dahlbeck in the box for high sticking Rob Klinkhammer. Draisaitl made a pretty saucer pass across the slot and over two Arizona sticks to Schultz in the right circle. The defenseman beat Domingue cleanly for his third goal of the season and second in three games.

The Coyotes got one back just over six minutes later, just as Teddy Purcell's high-sticking penalty was expiring. Michael Stone gloved down a high Ekman-Larsson pass and got off a pass that deflected off the stick of Oilers defenseman Andrej Sekera and came to Domi left of the net. Domi roofed the puck over Nilsson and just under the crossbar to get Arizona back in the game.

Edmonton regained a two-goal lead 1:02 into the third period, 21 seconds after Dahlbeck tripped Iiro Pakarinen. Pouliot camped in front of the net and tipped Schultz's shot past Domingue for his 10th goal.

But Domi and Arizona's power play answered at 3:35.

With Klinkhammer off for hooking Anthony Duclair, Ekman-Larsson made a pretty move past Schultz before putting a shot on net. Three Coyotes had a whack at the loose puck before Domi flipped it past Nilsson.

Domi tied it at 6:54 with another power-play goal.

With Eric Gryba in the box, Domi took Mikkel Boedker's pass out high and used a Martin Hanzal screen to pick the top far corner for his 13th goal of the season, triggering a cascade of hats onto the ice. It was the 12th power-play goal in the past nine games for Arizona.
