ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Anthony Duclair scored the only goal in the shootout and Louis Domingue made 34 saves, helping the Arizona Coyotes to a 2-1 win against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center on Monday.
The Coyotes tied the game late in the third period on a shorthanded goal by Antoine Vermette. Seconds after Martin Hanzal was whistled for a roughing penalty with 1:24 remaining, the Coyotes scored after Devan Dubnyk misplayed the puck behind his own net.
With Coyotes forward Tobias Rieder forechecking, Dubnyk's clearing attempt came to Rieder, who retrieved the puck and passed it to Vermette, who put it into an open net for his eighth with 1:13 remaining.
Arizona appeared to score the winner with 2:13 left in overtime when defenseman Michael Stone's shot from the point got past Dubnyk low on his blocker side. The goal was immediately waved it off because of goaltender interference and the call was upheld after a video review.
Domingue stopped Mikko Koivu's shootout attempt and Zach Parise and Charlie Coyle's attempts missed the net.
After Dubnyk stopped Mikkel Boedker's shot in the first round of the shootout, Duclair scored on a speedy forehand-backhand shot that eluded Dubnyk low to the glove side.
The loss extended Minnesota's home losing streak to five games.
The Coyotes, who have won two-straight, will play the second of back-to-back games against the Winnipeg Jets at MTS Centre on Tuesday before entering the All-Star break.
Minnesota (23-17-9) dominated large portions of the game, outshooting the Coyotes 13-4 in the first period and 11-2 in the second. Domingue was there each time, keeping the game scoreless into the third period.
Domingue has allowed two goals or fewer in four straight starts (2-2-0).
Arizona (24-19-5) had a chance to tie the game early in the third, putting seven shots on Dubnyk during the first six minutes, more than doubling their total from the first two periods combined.
Coyle scored at 10:20 of the third period, knocking in a rebound in front of his own shot for his 13th goal. It was Coyle's third consecutive game with a goal and established a new career high.
The Coyotes continued their push on the next shift, but Dubnyk robbed Viktor Tikhonov from the left circle with a sprawling glove save.
Dubnyk made 23 saves.
