NASHVILLE — John Scott, the fourth liner turned fan favorite during the movement that led to his selection as All-Star captain, can now add All-Star goal scorer to his magical weekend.
In fact, he scored twice for the Pacific Division.

Scott scored midway through the second 10-minute period via a feed from Burns that sprung him for a breakaway. He beat Minnesota Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk with a quick wrist shot to give the Pacific a 5-3 advantage.

The NHL did not immediately announce that Scott would still be allowed to participate. As his essay in The Players' Tribune said, Scott was pressured by the league to drop out. "Do you think this is something your kids would be proud of?" a league official asked him.
Scott has enjoyed the weekend, first drawing the largest crowd at NHL All-Star media day (and taking a photo of reporters surrounding him), then receiving an ovation during the skills competition and the loudest cheers outside of Predators players during player introductions.
