GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Mikkel Boedker scored his second goal of the game on the power play 34 seconds into overtime in the Arizona Coyotes' 2-1 win against the Minnesota Wild at Gila River Arena on Friday.
After Wild forward Zach Parise was called for high sticking Brad Richardson 16 seconds into overtime, Boedker collected the rebound of a Michael Stone shot and scored on a backhand to end the Coyotes' five-game losing streak.
Arizona (14-14-1) has won five straight on home ice. Five of Boedker's 11 goals have come in the Coyotes' past two home games; he had a hat trick in a 4-3 win against the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 28.
The Wild (14-7-6) are 1-6 in overtime games this season and have lost five straight, including the first two stops on their three-game road trip that ends against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
Anders Lindback made 27 saves and kept the Coyotes in the game. Wild goalie Darcy Kuemper made 18 saves.
Jared Spurgeon gave Minnesota a 1-0 lead in the second period, and Boedker tied it 11:17 later for Arizona, which has scored two goals or fewer in five of its past six games.
Parise assisted on Spurgeon's goal to extend his point streak against the Coyotes to 13 games, the longest active streak by one player against one team.
The game was scoreless after the first period, thanks in large part to Lindback. Starting in place of injured Mike Smith, Lindback made 10 saves and half of them were on prime scoring chances. He stopped Jason Pominville twice, one with an outstretched pad and the other with a blocker save on a hard one-timer from the right faceoff circle.
Lindback also denied two power-play stuff attempts by Parise, who had four shots in the period.
The Coyotes went more than 10 minutes without a shot to open the second period, but the Wild kept up the pressure and finally cashed in.
Parise banked the puck past Arizona defenseman Nicklas Grossmann along the boards and regained possession on the rush. He lifted a centering pass over Stone, and Spurgeon swatted the puck out of the air and past Lindback at 6:33. It was Spurgeon's fourth goal, his first in 10 games.
The Wild nearly doubled their lead on two occasions; forward Jason Zucker hit the post, and Pominville hit the crossbar before the Coyotes got even on their seventh shot in the first 37 minutes.
Tobias Rieder gained control of the puck after a faceoff in the Arizona zone and pushed it to the other end. Boedker caught up to the puck near the right hash marks in the Minnesota zone and beat Kuemper on the forehand at 17:50 for his 10th goal.
