GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed right wing Conor Garland to a three-year entry-level contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The 19-year-old Garland currently leads the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in scoring with 21-59-80 in 33 games. Garland's 80 points are 22 points more than the next ranked player in the QMJHL. He has earned at least one point in 32 of his 33 games this season and has collected multiple points in 25 games. Garland has earned two CHL Player of the Week honors this season and has been named one of QMJHL's Three Stars of the Week on six different occasions.
The 5-foot-8, 160-pound native of Scituate, Massachusetts has totaled 91-219-310 in 204 career games with the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL. In 2014-15, Garland set the Moncton single-season points record (35-94-129), which also led the entire League by 27 points. The forward earned League MVP honors and was named QMJHL First Star of the month in February and March last season.
Garland was drafted by the Coyotes in the fifth round (123rd overall) in the 2015 Entry Draft.
