The Chicago Blackhawks and Phoenix Coyotes are going to overtime. Again.
For the fifth straight game in this Western Conference Quarterfinal series, the Blackhawks and Coyotes will need more than regulation to determine the winner. Chicago defenseman Nick Leddy erased a 1-0 deficit midway through the third period at Jobing.com Arena after Gilbert Brule broke a scoreless tie early in the second.
It marks the first time a series has seen the first five games reach overtime since the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens in the 1951 Stanley Cup Final. The Coyotes lead the best-of-seven series, 3-1.
