It's solid white with no indication of prior ownership. The registration was painted somewhat untidily.

That flight operated on that date with that flight number...but that wasn't the registration of the aircraft.

{coyotes} Avalanche beat Coyotes 6-2, sweep 2-game series

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Gabriel Landeskog said the Colorado Avalanche have felt a little snakebit in recent weeks, putting together good offensive opportunities without many goals to show for them.

That changed in a big way Saturday night.

Jacob MacDonald broke a tie with his first goal of the season and the Avalanche scored four times in the third period to beat the Arizona Coyotes 6-2 and sweep the two-game, two-day series.

Nathan MacKinnon, Joonas Donskoi, Tyson Jost and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare also scored, with the Avalanche putting 41 shots on goal. Philipp Grubauer stopped 23 shots for the victory. It was the most goals scored in a game for Colorado in more than a month.

''We've been sticking with it and tonight we got rewarded for the hard work,'' Landeskog said.

Clayton Keller and Ilya Lyubushkin - with his first NHL goal - scored for Arizona. Antti Raanta made 35 saves.

Colorado won the opener 3-2 on Friday night. The Avalanche knocked the Coyotes out of the playoffs last season in five games.

Arizona got off to a much better offensive start against Colorado than the night before, when it managed just 10 shots through the first two periods. The Coyotes outshot the Avalanche 9-7 in the first and had a few good chances to score, including Phil Kessel's shot that hit the right post and bounced away.

MacKinnon opened the scoring with 7:44 left in the first period when he beat Raanta with a wrister to the top right corner of the net. Raanta was playing in just his fourth game this season.

Colorado started the second period with an offensive flurry, putting 10 shots on goal in the first four minutes but couldn't put anything in the net. Arizona tied it late in the period when Keller deflected a pass from Niklas Hjalmarsson past Grubauer.

Colorado answered three minutes later when MacDonald wrapped around the back of the net and slipped the puck past Raanta for a 2-1 lead. It was MacDonald's second goal of his career.

Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet criticized his team after Friday's loss, saying it had too many ''passengers'' who weren't contributing. He said the effort was much better Saturday, even if the results were not.

''I thought we played hard tonight. It was hard to sustain,'' Tocchet said. ''They're a good hockey club. There were pockets of the game where the MacKinnon line had the puck in our end and they're very talented. One of the best lines in the league, but for the most part, I thought guys really tried. They worked hard.''

The Avalanche pulled ahead 3-1 early in the third on a power-play goal by Landeskog, who corralled a rebound and smacked it into the net. Donskoi, Jost and Bellemare all scored later in the third.

''Arizona came out and they played hard. They were after us right away after the drop of the puck,'' Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said. ''But I thought we kept our composure.''

Colorado dominated offensively in the final two periods and finished with a 41-24 advantage in shots.

HOME COOKING?

The Avalanche played in front of fans the past two nights for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began last March.

It might have technically been a road game for Colorado, but it didn't feel that way considering the majority of the 3,224 fans in attendance seemed to be wearing Avalanche gear.

''It was amazing being back in front of fans, especially seeing how many Avs fans were here,'' Landeskog said. ''I never thought I'd say 3,000 people in an NHL building would be electric but that's what it felt like the past couple games.''

ICE CHIPS

Coyotes trainer Dave Zenobi worked his 2,000 professional hockey game on Saturday night. He was honored before the game with a framed jersey that had a 2,000 on it. ... Arizona's Conor Garland missed the game with a lower-body injury. He leads the team with 19 points. It was the first game he's missed this season. ...

Hi Howard,

Not the norm on this forum, but I would locate an air salvage company, I am in the UK and we have two Air Salvage Firms that part out aircraft and then break them up. I know from TV programs that you can buy parts of aircraft, however these firms are along way from you. Many years ago commercial airliners were parted out at Shelton, Washington State, but on checking a database there does not seem to be any aircraft any longer.

Therefore your nearest airfields would be Mojave, Victorville or San Bernardino, a google search  should find an air salvage company..

All the best

{coyotes} Coyotes rally from 3 down to beat Ducks 4-3 in shootout

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) Conor Garland and Christian Dvorak each scored in a shootout, and the Arizona Coyotes rallied from a three-goal deficit for the second straight game to beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 Wednesday night.

The Coyotes became the eighth team in NHL history to win consecutive games after trailing by at least three goals. Quebec was the only other team to do it facing the same team, against Hartford in 1983.

''It's one of those things where you never stop believing, but we can't have a steady dose of this,'' Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said.

Arizona came back from a 3-0 deficit to beat Anaheim 4-3 in a testy, fight-filled game Monday night.

The Ducks had a three-goal lead in the second period of the rematch on goals by Max Comtois, Max Jones and Josh Mahura.

The Coyotes again revved it up late, pulling within 3-2 on goals by Tyler Pitlick and Jakob Chychrun less than two minutes apart in the third period. Phil Kessel tied it with 3:21 left in regulation

''We got some good breaks, a couple of good bounces,'' Kessel said. ''We never thought were were out of it. You get one and momentum seems to be on your side.

Both teams had good chances in the overtime, Anaheim's Ryan Miller and Arizona's Adin Hill traded spectacular saves seconds apart.

Hill, who replaced injured Darcy Kuemper early in the third period, stopped Comtois in the shootout and Rickard Rakell missed the net on Anaheim's final shot.

''We were playing a game and we just started accepting the game, just watching,'' Jones said. ''We can't do that. We can't accept that.''

The Coyotes played their worst opening period of the season in Monday's win, giving up two goals and another early in the second.

They had a much better start in the rematch, particularly in their own end.

The Ducks still got the first goal, scoring with 12 seconds left in the first period when Comtois poked in a rebound between his legs.

Anaheim dominated early in the second period and Mahura made it 2-0 on a shot from near the blue line as Trevor Zegras flashed in front of Kuemper.

Jones gave the Ducks another 3-0 lead, slipping a backhander under Kuemper on a power play late in the second period.

The Coyotes came to life in the third period after Tocchet pulled Kuemper, scoring when Pitlick deflected a shot by Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Chychrun scored 1:44 later on a shot that hit a skate and a stick out front. Kessel tied it on a slick pass from Clayton Keller.

''We backed off a little bit, but that's how you learn these lessons,'' Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said. ''You have to keep your foot on the gas, keep playing hard.''

PINCH HITTING HILL

Hill has been Arizona's backup goalie the past four games while Antti Raanta has dealt with an upper-body injury.

He had yet to play and was thrust into Wednesday's game without much warning when Kuemper skated off the ice and down the tunnel with the trainer.

Hill was sharp from the start, stopping a few early shots, and made a spectacular save on Isac Lundestrom in the overtime.

''I was kind of told I was hopping on the next whistle, so I grabbed my helmet and stick and hopped out there,'' said Hill, who had 14 saves. ''You just try to do a little movement, get your eyes going a little bit and try to do whatever you can.''

ICE CHIPS

Jones played his 100th career NHL game. ... Ekman-Larsson had two assists to break Keith Yandle's career record of 246 by a Coyotes defenseman. ... Comtois has five goals and four assists the past eight games after finishing with one of each on Wednesday. ... Kessel has three goals and three assists during a four-game points streak.

{coyotes} Coyotes rally from 3 goals down to beat Ducks 4-3

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Coyotes were on their heels from the start, giving up two early goals against the NHL's lowest-scoring team.

A flurry of flying fists finally got their attention.

Christian Dvorak scored two goals and the Coyotes rallied from a three-goal deficit to beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 in a testy game Monday night.

''It was a wacky game,'' said Arizona defenseman Jakob Chychrun, who had a goal and an assist. ''We just have to be better at the drop of the puck, but it was a heck of a response.''

The buzz heading into the game was the much-anticipated debut of Anaheim top prospect Trevor Zegras.

Big hits, fights and bunches of goals became the focus once the puck dropped.

Arizona goalie Darcy Kuemper was among five players penalized during a lengthy melee that set the physical tone early. The first period ended with two fights and the teams combined for 46 penalty minutes overall.

The Ducks scored twice in the opening period and had a 3-0 lead early in the second.

Arizona stormed back to tie it in the second period with three goals in less than four minutes and went ahead in the third on Dvorak's second goal.

Derick Brassard also scored for Arizona and Kuemper stopped 24 shots.

Cam Fowler, Jakob Silfverberg and Max Jones scored for Anaheim. John Gibson had 21 saves.

''It was a crazy game. Usually when you're up 3-0 and you end up losing the game it's because you quit playing,'' Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said. ''We didn't quit playing. The guys had unbelievable energy tonight, they were engaged from start to finish. ''

Anaheim arrived in the desert with an NHL-low 33 goals, but didn't need much time to get its first one against Arizona. Silfverberg scored three minutes in, beating Kuemper between the pads after stealing the puck from Johan Larsson.

Jones scored on a two-man advantage later in the period to make it 2-0 and set off a melee by standing over fallen Arizona defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Kuemper came to his captain's defense and five players ended up in the penalty box, including three Coyotes.

The hits kept coming.

Jones fought John Hayden later in the period, then Arizona's Lawson Crouse and Derek Grant dropped the gloves in the closing seconds.

The teams combined for 38 penalty minutes in the opening period.

Fowler made it 3-0 in the first two minutes of the third period with a shot through a screen.

''We were playing a direct game and getting pucks to the net,'' Silfverberg said. ''When you get rewarded early, get one than two, it helps with confidence.''

But then it was Arizona's turn to score.

Dvorak beat Gibson on a penalty shot after Silfverberg hooked him on a short-handed breakaway. It was the third short-handed penalty-shot goal in Coyotes' history.

Brassard pulled Arizona within 3-2, one-timing a pass from Conor Garland two minutes later. Chychrun tied it less than two minutes after that, beating Gibson glove side before bowling him over.

Dvorak gave Arizona its first lead - on a power play, of course - by redirecting a shot by Chychrun early in the third period.

Kuemper made some big saves down the stretch to seal it.

''We were god awful in the first period, probably our worst period of the season,'' Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. ''We had a good response, got a couple of good goals and hung on. Glad we won, but it's not good enough.''

ZEGRAS' DEBUT

Anaheim fans had been calling for Zegras to join the NHL club and he finally got the chance when the Ducks called him up from their top affiliate in San Diego.

The ninth overall pick in the 2019 NHL draft was the MVP while leading the U.S. to gold at the World Junior Championships and had had four goals and five assists in eight games for San Diego.

Zegras had a solid debut after doing the traditional rookie solo lap around the rink before the game, managing two shots in a little over 13 minutes.

''Obviously, with the loss, it was kind of tough for me to show how cool it was,'' he said. ''The guys were unbelievable and doing a solo lap is something every kid dreams of.''
