[cactuswings 4682] REQ: Marana and Victorville storage lists

I'm travelling at the moment so have limited connectivity and do not have access to my PC with my database on as a starter for ten.

A friend has recently paid a visit to both the above without optics and has asked if I could cobble together a rough log.

I have looked through the archives and found a couple of reports circa 12/18 months old. There have also been various requests for details of overflight companies so clearly people have been paying visits.

Would anyone have a list of either of the above storage sites that they would be prepared to share even if a few months old as it will help out rather than starting with a report that was old and trawling through the various storage update reports.

Various reports on this and other forums tend to cover the new stuff rather than anything in long term storage.

Hopefully someone has a consolidate list.

Very many thanks

Richard

The Utah Hockey Club now has a captain.

Clayton Keller will wear the 'C' beginning in Utah's inaugural season in Salt Lake City, the team announced on Friday.

Keller was the former Arizona Coyotes' leading scorer for each of the last three seasons. In 2023-24, he had 33 goals and 76 points in 78 games.

"I'm extremely honoured to be named captain of Utah Hockey Club," Keller said in a statement issued by the team. "I'm grateful for this opportunity and want to thank the entire organization for believing in me. I understand it's a privilege to be a captain in the NHL, and a huge honour to know that management, coaches and my teammates have the belief in me to lead this team. It's a huge responsibility and one I have prepared my whole life for. We have a room full of great leaders and together, we will work hard to achieve our goal of becoming a playoff team."

The 26-year-old is entering his ninth NHL season after debuting with the Coyotes for three games in 2016-17. Arizona selected Keller seventh overall in the 2016 NHL Draft, and he has 166 goals and 418 points in 520 games.

Utah opens the season on Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks.

{coyotes} Utah Hockey Club debut has ESPN talent excited 'to be part of something new'

--
banners Puppybear.tv - Rakuten.ca - Amazon.com - Swagbucks - MyPoints - DailyRewards

The Utah Hockey Club will play its first regular-season game Tuesday, and ESPN and ESPN+ are ready to make the historic night even more special.

The game against the Chicago Blackhawks (10 p.m. ET) is the capper of a season-opening tripleheader on ESPN and ESPN+ that starts with the St. Louis Blues at the Seattle Kraken (4:30 p.m. ET) and also features the Florida Panthers raising their Stanley Cup banner before hosting the Boston Bruins (7 p.m. ET).

ESPN coordinating producer Linda Schulz said Thursday that Steve Levy, Mark Messier and P.K. Subban will provide studio coverage from Utah starting with "The Point," ESPN's 30-minute pregame show, at 4 p.m. ET. Pregame and wrap coverage will be on a studio set outside of Delta Center, Utah's home arena, with indoor studio coverage closer to puck drop.

"We'll be right in the midst of that, so think of a ["ESPN College GameDay"] feel that we know is going to be extremely energetic," Schulz said. "I was there Sept. 23 for their preseason game (3-2 overtime win against the Los Angeles Kings). That place was packed. The first time the players took the ice, I was watching, and the place just erupted. I can't even imagine what Tuesday's going to be like."

Analyst Leah Hextall said she's enjoyed covering a lot of firsts during her nearly 20-year broadcasting career. She's looking forward to another one.

"Every time you get to do something new is exciting," she said. "There's not a lot left on the bingo card, but doing a hockey game in Utah I didn't foresee coming. So I think we're very fortunate that we have a franchise that's going to be located there."

Prior to the Utah-Chicago game, country music star Shaboozey will have a free concert outside Delta Center, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET. Shaboozey will perform his chart-topping hits, including "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," which is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the 12th time this year and the Hot Country Songs chart for the 16th week.

The Utah franchise was established after a vote by the NHL Board of Governors on April 18 and joined the NHL after acquiring the hockey assets of the Arizona Coyotes, who became inactive after last season.

ESPN analyst Ray Ferraro is set to call the Blues-Kraken game in Seattle but will not miss a chance to be in Utah for the historic game, flying there from Seattle to join play-by-play announcer Bob Wischusen and analyst AJ Mleczko for the Utah-Blackhawks game.

"Everything is new and exciting," Ferraro said of Utah. "The first little bit, I don't know, there's a different electricity to it and I know that'll be apparent on Tuesday. From the players (standpoint), I will say this. I really wanted to take the first face-off in (Atlanta) Thrasher history and I did and it meant something to me.

"I don't know, you want to be part of something new, first. You just want to be part of something new and fresh."

On Tuesday, ESPN also will honor Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau and his brother, Matthew, who were killed Aug. 29 after they were struck by a car while riding their bicycles near their hometown in Salem County, New Jersey.

Schulz said she couldn't completely share plans regarding the Gaudreaus "because we're still in the works. I will tell you in the pregame we're dedicating some time on our studio side to tell that story and make folks aware of what took place. Additionally, prior to every matchup there will be a moment to recognize and acknowledge the loss."

Tij Iginla was assigned to Kelowna of the Western Hockey League on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old forward was the first pick in franchise history (No. 6) at the 2024 NHL Draft. He made his preseason debut on Sunday in Utah's 6-3 win against the Colorado Avalanche, getting two shots on goal in 11:51 of ice time. He then had an assist in 12:56 in a 3-1 victory at the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.

{coyotes} Utah Hockey Club hopes to reward new city by ending long playoff drought

--
banners Puppybear.tv - Rakuten.ca - Amazon.com - Swagbucks - MyPoints - DailyRewards

Utah Hockey Club

Last season: 36-41-5, did not make the playoffs.

COACH: André Tourigny (89-131-26 over 3 seasons with the Arizona Coyotes).

SEASON OPENER: Oct. 8 vs. Chicago.

DEPARTURES: F Jason Zucker, D J.J. Moser, D Mathew Dumba.

ADDITIONS: D Mikhail Sergachev, D John Marino, D Robert Bortuzzo.

GOALIES: Connor Ingram (50-23-21-3, 2.91 GAA, 0.907 save percentage) and Karel Vejmelka (38-13-19-2, 3.35 GAA, 0.895).

BETMGM STANLEY CUP ODDS: 60-1.

What to expect

With new surroundings, Utah hopes for better results than it had before departing for Salt Lake City after 28 years in the Phoenix area, most recently as the Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes made the playoffs just once in their final 12 seasons. General manager Bill Armstrong likes to refer to this season as "the fourth year of the rebuild." All that said, with a core of homegrown talent led by returning leading scorer Clayton Keller, Utah could push for a postseason spot. To help get there, Armstrong made upgrading defense his offseason priority, and landing Sergachev might be the NHL's free-agency coup. There is a lot of energy with a new fan base, giving Utah a home-ice advantage it had long lacked in Arizona.

Strengths and weaknesses

The good: This has been a slow build and this season could be a significant step forward. Keller led the club with in goals (33), assists (43) and points (76), but it's not all him. Utah returns its top 11 scorers from and now — thanks to Armstrong's deals — a much-improved defensive corps. Sergachev not only brings the skill of a player who's a proven two-way player, he is entering his prime at 26 who already has two Stanley Cup championships on his resume with the Tampa Bay Lightning. In goal, Ingram has shown the ability to give his team a shot to win each game.

The not-so-good: It's a new city, new look, new ownership, new outlook. But in many ways, they are still the Coyotes. Nearly the entire team made the move north and still must prove the old ways and numerous losses are over. There is a large group of promising players, but there doesn't appear to be one who can be a dynamic goal scorer and lift Utah to the next level. Ingram could be a quality goaltender, but whether he can be that true difference maker with a late-season or playoff game on the line is an unknown at this point.

Player to watch

Barrett Hayton's talent is not in question. Can he stay healthy? Hayton, the No. 5 overall draft pick in 2018, has missed 71 games over the past three seasons and played in 33 last season. Utah would love nothing more than to make Hayton the top-line center each game. If he can stay in the lineup, that could be just the boost the team needs to make the playoffs in its first season in Salt Lake City.

{coyotes} NHL, NHLPA expected to begin talks on new CBA in early 2025

--
banners Puppybear.tv - Rakuten.ca - Amazon.com - Swagbucks - MyPoints - DailyRewards

NEW YORK -- The NHL and NHL Players' Association are expected to begin talks on a new collective bargaining agreement early in 2025.

"We will probably begin having more discussions with the Players' Association after the first of the year," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said at the NHL Board of Governors meeting at the Westin New York on Tuesday. "We've said that it could be as early as November, but I think everybody's still got some homework to do. You know that the union's on their fall tour, so no big deal. It's just, I think, in terms of timing, that's probably the most realistic. Which is still well, well in advance, and we think we're collectively, in terms of the relationship, in a good place."

The current agreement is set to expire September 2026.

"I don't want to speculate. If we had it done by my media avail at the Stanley Cup Final, everybody would be very happy," Bettman said. "That's not a discussion in terms of the timetable that I've had with (NHLPA Executive Director) Marty Walsh. So, I don't want to put any unfair or undiscussed parameters on it. It'll be what it'll be. But I think based on the status of our relationship, this will be fine."

Commissioner Bettman also said the NHL salary cap for next season is expected to be around $92.5 million, which would be up $4.5 million from the $88 million it is at this season, but cautioned it was "way preliminary."

When asked about the possibility of reducing the amount of preseason games and increasing the amount of regular season games, Bettman said it was "on the list of things to things to think about."

Bettman also said the topic of expansion "never came up in any form" at the meetings, although he did note that "there are a number of places that have expressed interest that talk to us."

The NHL added the Vegas Golden Knights and Seattle Kraken in the past seven years. Vegas won the Stanley Cup in 2023, its sixth season in the League, and the Kraken made the Stanley Cup Playoffs in their second season in 2022-23, improving by 40 points from 2021-22.

"We feel no compulsion to [expand] right now," Bettman said. "We just came off our most successful season in our history. We've got collective bargaining to deal with. We've got new media arrangements to do in Canada. If something came in and checked all the boxes, and we felt that it might make sense, we might consider it but we're not there right now."

The Board of Governors, also approved Ottawa Senators owner Michael Andlauer purchasing an additional 12 percent stake in the team from George Armoyan, and the transfer of the controlling interest in the Tampa Bay Lightning from owner Jeff Vinik to a group led by Doug Ostrover over three years.

The date for rosters to be submitted for the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off was also discussed at the meeting. NHL players from Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States will participate in the tournament, which will run from Feb. 12-20 at TD Garden in Boston and Bell Centre in Montreal.

"The date in our agreement is December 2," NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said. "We do think we might be able to move that up by a couple days. Having said that, I understand several general managers at the 4 Nations would actually want us to move it back. And I don't think that's going to happen, because I think the Players' Association have a pretty strong interest in making it as early as possible so that players can make plans. I think we're kind of penciled out at Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, type of period for the announcements."

Daly also said teams would be able to make adjustments to their rosters if an injury occurred to a player previously named.

"You can replace players for bona fide injuries up to and including Feb. 12, and with those players that could be injury replacements be named ahead of time," Daly said. "If somebody gets a season-ending injury, you can name his replacement early."

{coyotes} ‘Powerhouse’ Central Division has 7 playoff contenders, from Dallas to Nashville

--
banners Puppybear.tv - Rakuten.ca - Amazon.com - Swagbucks - MyPoints - DailyRewards

Nino Niederreiter has taken a bit of a tour around the NHL's Central Division, from Minnesota to Nashville to Winnipeg, so few know better just how deep it is.

Dallas is coming off a trip to the Western Conference Final, Colorado could get captain Gabriel Landeskog back after a two-year absence, Nashville loaded up by signing Steven Stamkos and others, St. Louis is back in the mix and Utah should be much-improved after relocating from Arizona. Only a maximum of five can make the playoffs.

"I feel like it's back to a powerhouse," Niederreiter said of the Central. "You have four or five teams that are going to play for the playoff spots, and I think it's going to be very difficult."

The Stars go in as the slight favorite after reaching the third round and pushing eventual West champion Edmonton to six games. Outside of the Oilers in the Pacific, Dallas is among the likeliest teams to get out of the conference and reach the final next spring, especially after making a long run.

"We learned just how hard it is to win," young forward Wyatt Johnston said. "You always hear and everyone always talks about it. But you really learn once you get there how hard it is to win. It's not easy to win even one playoff game, and you've got to win 16 of them to win the Stanley Cup."

The Avalanche won the Cup three years ago, and hoisting it was the last thing Landeskog did on the ice in the NHL. Add him back to a group led by reigning MVP Nathan MacKinnon and elite defenseman Cale Makar, and Colorado looks poised to be among the league's best once again.

Then there are the Predators, who added Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei in free agency and signed goaltender Juuse Saros to a long-term extension. Saros and his teammates know it is time to make it count.

"You've got to work and be humble to get all the pieces working together because it is a hard league to win," Saros said. "But obviously the expectations are there, for sure."

On the rise

The Blues pulled off the biggest surprise of the summer, signing Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg of the Oilers to offer sheets that Edmonton opted not to match. Five years since winning the first title in franchise history and after going through a bit of a reset on the fly, St. Louis is back as a clear contender.

"(General manager Doug Armstrong has) been pretty open and honest with everyone about our team the last couple years and being in a retool," forward Robert Thomas said. "We're in a time to push right now. The retool's over, we're ready to go and I'm excited to kind of show everyone what we've built in St. Louis."

The Utah Hockey Club also made some splashes, acquiring two-time Cup-winning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev from Tampa Bay at the draft among a series of moves by GM Bill Armstrong. There is also the excitement of the team formerly known as the Coyotes getting a fresh start in Salt Lake City, much like an expansion team but with tons of young talent already in place.

"It's a great experience to be part of something brand new, a new team, because that doesn't happen often," goaltender Karel Vejmelka said. "It's kind of unique, and I'm pretty excited about it."

On the decline

Someone has to miss the playoffs other than Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks, who are likely at least a couple of years away from making that leap.

Minnesota might be on the wrong end of that in the final year of salary cap calamity. Buyouts of the albatross contracts of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter in 2021 will help the Wild immensely down the road, but they combine to count almost $15 million this season, which will hamstring GM Bill Guerin in what's expected to be the final season for well-respected veteran goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.

On the h

ot seat

If Utah does not make a marked improvement, Andre Tourigny could be among the first coaches fired. Tourigny was brought in a few years ago to teach a young team good habits, and he has done that well, but an experienced hand at the wheel might be needed to take the next step for a franchise eager for a good start for their new fans.

Predicted order of finish

Dallas, Colorado, Nashville, St. Louis, Winnipeg, Utah, Minnesota, Chicago.
