Re: [cactuswings 4135] LOG: San Bernardino 17th Nov 2019

Gary - Thanks for posting this and the vcv log.

Interesting to see that there are 2 Spirit A320Ns there still wearing their F- registrations. Any idea why?

Hello All, posted this on another forum recently but equally as relevant for this group..

Bit later than perhaps we should have to beat the haze we headed off inland from LAX to SBD.

By far my least favorite place of the trip. Completely deserted ghosttown of an airport. There is so much more stored stuff than when we were last here 4 years ago and they are now parking packed in the middle of the of the field behind the hangars.
You have to contend with them being parked close and tight, heat haze and the additional problem that many of the ANA stuff has the regs scrubbed out like at VCV.

Without an airside tour I think many will be frustrated here.

We bombed out on the ANA DH8s and identified only one and that was only because it was parked on the chop up ramp at the NE of the field.
We did see 5 tails and a couple of white DH8 fuselages but no real way of identifying. We saw and identified but didnt even get a great shot of the Fiji 737 which together with the GOL N574UA was the main reason for the call.

Wasnt sorry to pack up and go from this place, although I did make a 727 frame in N164TS.
