The Arizona Coyotes have signed forward Michael Carcone to a two-year, one-way contract extension, the club announced Wednesday afternoon.

Carcone, 27, won the John B. Sollenberger Trophy after leading the American Hockey League with 85 points (31 goals, 54 assists) in 65 games with the Tucson Roadrunners during the 2022–23 regular season, setting new club records in goals, assists, and points in the process. He was named a first-team AHL All-Star and played at the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic in Laval, Que.

The five-foot-10 winger also appeared in nine games with the Coyotes in 2022–23, collecting a pair of goals and an assist. He had been slated to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Carcone most recently suited up for Team Canada at the 2023 IIHF World Championship in Finland and Latvia, collecting three goals in six games en route to his first gold medal in international play.

According to CapFriendly, Carcone's new deal with the Coyotes carries a $775,000 cap hit.

The Vancouver Canucks originally signed Carcone as an undrafted free agent from the QMJHL's Drummondville Voltigeurs in 2016. The Ajax, Ont. product spent parts of three seasons with the Canucks' AHL club before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2018.

Following brief tenures with the Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators, Carcone was traded to the Nashville Predators in 2020. But with the Milwaukee Admirals (the Predators' AHL affiliate) on hiatus, Nashville sent Carcone to the Roadrunners on loan.

After a successful audition in Tucson, Carcone signed a two-year, two-way deal with the Coyotes in 2021. He finally made his NHL debut with Arizona during the 2021–22 season, collecting six points (four goals, two assists) in 21 games.

Through 30 career NHL games over the last two seasons with the Coyotes, Carcone has collected six goals and nine points. He's added 123 goals and 267 points in 398 career AHL contests with the Utica Comets, Toronto Marlies, Belleville Senators, and Tucson.
