Re: Fwd: Re: Meeting minutes

There is always Moqui Campground.  It runs around $50 a night, has water and the most important thing for the women....toilets (LOL).

One other thought is Kehl Springs campground which is on FR300.  It sits in a bowl but has a ton of trees.

Terry has suggested a field day location in Cochino County.  I like this idea.  Does anyone else have and thoughts?  Is this a location members may like?

Hello Orion,
Yes it does get hot there at Oak Flat Campground. I know of a place that mostly local residents know about.
It is called "Patrick Pond". It is on top of the Rim and east of Payson. Google Forest Lakes Estates in Arizona and it is about a mile past the local gas station and restaurant and you turn right just before you crest the hill and it is about 1/2 mile off the paved road on gravel. I've been there twice and the pond is not too big but secluded and a great place to go HF and not very much VHF and UHF but really a nice spot for a field day. The restaurant has a nice store and great home cooking. Check it out sometime. 73 for now and see the poor quality map attached.  Terry Cross NK7T

We discussed Field Day and thoughts as to where we want to hold it.
Traditionally we held it at Oak Flats, but due to the fact that Oak Flats
in June gets close to the temperatures of the Sun, or rather the Valley of
the Sun, we have moved it from time to time.  We are talking about moving
it to the RIM country just to cool it down a bit.  I know almost every club
in the valley will be up there, but it's big enough that we end up being
spread out.  I would like to take this time and see if anyone has thoughts
and ideas as to where to go up on the Rim.  Please let us know.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.Mark Twain
