The Arizona Republic indicates Coyotes Dave Tippett was impressed with Andy Miele on the first game of this call-up Tuesday.
"He's come a long way in a couple years, and you can tell in his confidence," Tippett said. "He goes into the faceoff circle. He wants to play instead of going out and going, 'I'm not sure if I can play.'"
More Tippett: "He's a top scorer, top player down there (AHL), but the way his game has matured is he's played all over the ice. As a young player coming out of college, there was lots of work to be done in the 'D' zone, lots of work on faceoffs, but he's put that work in.
"He's a top payer that plays in all situations down there, and he's going to come up and hopefully his game is going to translate up here. But he's a guy he's a very determined player. He's just a guy that finds a way to get the job done wherever he's been. Hopefully he can do that with the next step."
