Season series: The Arizona Coyotes and Vancouver Canucks have split four games, with each team winning once at home and once on the road. Daniel Sedin and Radim Vrbata each had two assists in the most recent game, a 3-1 Vancouver victory in Glendale, Ariz., on March 22.

Coyotes team scope: Captain Shane Doan left midway through Arizona's 3-2 loss at the Calgary Flames on Tuesday with a lower-body injury and may not be able to play in Vancouver. The Coyotes recalled forward Henrik Samuelsson from Portland of the American Hockey League in case Doan can't go. Oliver Ekman-Larsson leads all NHL defensemen with 23 goals; one more will break the franchise single-season record he shares with Phil Housley. The Coyotes are in 29th place in the NHL standings; they have two more points than the last-place Buffalo Sabres (56-54).

Canucks team scope: Vancouver hasn't played since rallying for a 2-1 shootout victory against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday. The Canucks clinched a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs one night later when the Kings lost to the Edmonton Oilers. Their lone remaining regular-season goal is to finish second in the Pacific Division, assuring Vancouver of the home-ice advantage in its Western Conference First Round series. The Canucks are two points ahead of the Flames, who host the Kings on Thursday. "We want to start at home," captain Henrik Sedin said, according to the Canucks website. "It's a great position we're in, and we've got to keep playing well too. Going into playoffs, you don't want to have any letdowns in the games before."
