Clayton Keller is headed to the desert.

TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie reports the seventh overall pick in the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft has signed an entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes.

A native of Swansea, Illinois, Keller just finished his first year with the Boston Terriers. The team bowed out in the quarterfinals of the NCAA hockey playoffs with a 3-2 overtime loss to Minnesota-Duluth. In 31 games with the Terriers this season, Keller - a centre - had 21 goals and 24 assists.

Drafted out of the United States National Development Team Program, Keller was a member of the gold medal-winning American entry at the 2017 World Junior Hockey Championships in Toronto and Montreal. In seven tournament games, Keller notched three goals and eight assists.
