Re: Proposed meeting schedule and location change for 2014

Looks like a good starting place for more input from members to set up next years schedule. There are a lot of parks in Mesa large enough to set up some antennas and have facilities for members comfort. As a side note I got a email promoting a new QRP Hf transceiver made in China transmitting on 1 to 30 Mhz ssb/cw and am for $300.00 it is called the X1M. There is some testing and comment and a Utube video on the web.

First, I am looking into moving the meeting location from the Utilities Building about 1/2 mile to downtown Mesa at Firestation 201 located at Mesa Dr and 1st St 1 Block north of the LDS Temple. This room holds 50 people and if it's available it might be a nice change of pace as other clubs also meet at our current location.

For the schedule for next year, I am suggesting that we mix various members ideas as we strive to continue to develop a unique identity that honours our tradition and heritage but established our club as unique from our ancestors.

It is proposed that we have:

4th Tuesday in Jaunary, Business/Planning Meeting/Elections Mesa Fire Dept 201 630p
3rd Saturday in February, Lost Dutchman, Superstition Mountain Museum in AJ
4th Saturday in March, Radio in the Park at a Mesa Park
4th Saturday in April, Field Trip to Titan Missile Museum to use Discone Antenna
4th Tuesday in May, Business/Planning Meeting/Fieldday Mesa Fire Dept 201 630p
4th Weekend in June, ARRL Fieldday, on the Rim
4th Saturday in July, Radio in the Park at a Mesa Park
4th Saturday in August, Field Trip to Arizona Science Center W7ASC Radio Station
4th Tuesday in September, Business/Planning Meeting/Camping Mesa Fire Dept 201 630p
4th Weekend in October, Camping Trip, OakFlats Camground
3rd Saturday in November, Radio in the Park at a Mesa Park
4th Saturday in December, Winter Break, no meeting

Please understand, non of this is yet set in stone except the Lost Dutchman.
