COYOTES (35-36-7) at BLUES (47-23-9)

TV: 8 p.m. ET; FS-A PLUS, FS-MW, NHL.TV

Season series: The St. Louis Blues have won the first two games against the Arizona Coyotes. Kevin Shattenkirk and Alexander Steen each had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win at Scottrade Center on Dec. 8. The Blues scored four goals in 8:58 in the first period, and Vladimir Tarasenko had a goal and an assist in a 6-4 victory at Gila River Arena on Feb. 20. Max Domi has two goals, and Kevin Connauton has a goal and two assists for the Coyotes.

Coyotes team scope: Arizona begins a four-game road trip to close its season. The Coyotes are 2-11-1 in their past 14 games away from Gila River Arena. They're tied with the Calgary Flames for 28th in the NHL with 13 road victories; only the Edmonton Oilers have fewer (12). Coach Dave Tippett was not sure whether center Martin Hanzal, who has an upper-body injury and did not play in a 3-0 win against the Washington Capitals in the home finale Saturday, would travel. Goalie Mike Smith, who likely will start, has two of his three shutouts this season in seven games since returning March 12 from a core muscle injury that required surgery. He is 5-2-0 and has allowed nine goals on 234 shots since returning. "The injury was frustrating, but it was important for myself to come back and not only show myself but the team, the group and the organization that I can still play when I'm healthy and I'm feeling my best," Smith told the Coyotes website.

Blues team scope: Goalie Brian Elliott was already scheduled to start before Jake Allen sustained a lower-body injury in the first period of a 5-1 win at the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday. Allen made 11 saves before being replaced by backup Anders Nilsson to start the second. Coach Ken Hitchcock said afterward that Allen would be evaluated Monday. The Blues have won seven in a row and 10 of 11 (10-0-1) against Arizona. They lead the Chicago Blackhawks by four points for second place and trail the Dallas Stars by two points for first place in the Central Division. The Blues and Blackhawks have three games remaining; the Stars have two. Left wing Robby Fabbri (upper body), defenseman Jay Bouwmeester (upper body) and forward Steve Ott (hamstring) are questionable. Center Paul Stastny has 17 points (13 assists) in the past 12 games, and Tarasenko has 15 (six goals, seven assists) in 14.
