The Arizona Coyotes have no timetable to name a captain, coach Rick Tocchet told the Coyotes website Thursday.
Shane Doan, who had been captain since 2003, retired Aug. 30.
Among the possible replacements could be defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
"That would be a huge honor," Ekman-Larsson said during the European Player Media Tour in August. "I didn't dream of that when I was a kid. It was a long, long way from that. It would be unbelievable."
