Seventeen hockey organizations will aggregate in New York City on Sept. 6, to launch a new initiative regarding the sport's "Declaration of Principles".
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman will be one of many personalities that will be at the conference to release "a joint statement advocating the game of hockey as a powerful platform for participants to build character, foster positive values and develop important life skills that transcend the game."
Deputy commissioner Bill Daly, players Erik Karlsson, Seth Jones, and Kevin Shattenkirk, along with Sportsnet's Cassie Campbell-Pascall will be some of the many voices at the event, in which hockey organizations will "pledge to celebrate and advance policies, programs and initiatives" in an effort to "inspire their fans, participants and communities – to create the best possible family hockey experience."
