Season series: Jaden Schwartz's first NHL hat trick and four-point game paved the way for the St. Louis Blues to defeat the Arizona Coyotes 6-1 on Oct. 18. Schwartz and linemates Jori Lehtera (one goal, two assists) and Vladimir Tarasenko (three assists) combined for 10 points.

Blues team scope: Schwartz returned to the lineup after missing seven games with a broken foot to help the Blues defeat the San Jose Sharks 7-2 on Saturday. The Blues, who were 1-5-1 in Schwartz's absence, have won six straight with him in the lineup and outscored their opponents 31-15. T.J. Oshie's second NHL hat trick fueled the offensive output; he was named the NHL's First Star of the Week on Monday. Oshie, Alexander Steen and Kevin Shattenkirk each had four points, the first time the Blues have had three players with four points in a game since January 26, 1993 [Brendan Shanahan, Brett Hull and Craig Janney] in a 5-1 win against the Ottawa Senators. "We'd been playing pretty well for long stretches the last three or four games," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "This is the reward we got for doing it." Goalie Brian Elliott will start Tuesday.

Coyotes team scope: Martin Hanzal's goal and three assists helped the Coyotes win for the fourth time in five games with a 6-3 victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday. Sam Gagner had two goals and an assist, and Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Kyle Chipchura and Tobias Rieder each had a goal and an assist. The Coyotes have lost five straight to the Blues on home ice, last winning on March 22, 2011. Arizona recalled forward Lucas Lessio from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League on Monday. "He's been playing well down there the last few games," coach Dave Tippett said of Lessio, who has nine goals and 16 points in 26 games at Portland. "... I'm not sure if he'll go in the lineup [Tuesday] or not but an opportunity for him to come back mid-season and we'll see where he's at."
