Season series: The Calgary Flames have won each of the three games against the Arizona Coyotes by a combined score of 13-5. Calgary forward Jiri Hudler has six points (one goal, five assists) and Johnny Gaudreau has a goal and three assists.

Flames team scope: Goalie Joni Ortio made 36 saves in a 1-0 shutout against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday and will start Thursday. Coach Bob Hartley also said Karri Ramo (upper body), who hasn't played since Jan. 7, will travel with the Flames. "I have to keep doing the stuff I did [Saturday]," Ortio told the Flames website. "I'm still taking it day by day and focusing on the present." The Flames continue a five-game road trip having played in six straight one-goal games (3-3-0) and nine of their past 10 (5-4-1). Since returning to the lineup after missing 29 games with an abdominal injury, forward Mikael Backlund has three goals and five points in three games. Center Drew Shore, who was traded to the Flames last week, was recalled from Adirondack of the American Hockey League, could be in the lineup.

Coyotes team scope: Arizona traded goalie Devan Dubnyk to the Minnesota Wild for a third-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft on Wednesday. Dubnyk made 22 saves Tuesday, but the Coyotes were defeated by the San Jose Sharks 3-2 at Gila River Arena and are 2-3-0 on a six-game homestand. "Devan was terrific for us," general manager Don Maloney said, according to azcentral.com. "He was a good player, played very well. … But we obtained what I would consider is a good draft pick asset that we can use in the future. It allows us to bring up a younger goaltender, which we intend to do to try out and see what we have in our system." Arizona has been shut out twice in the past six games and has allowed 24 goals (four per game) in that span. Forward Mikkel Boedker has four goals in his past three games. Coach Dave Tippett said via Twitter that Shane Doan (lower body) likely won't play Thursday and forward Martin Hanzal (upper body) would be in the lineup.
