Season series: Minnesota Wild forwards Zach Parise and Jason Pominville each had two points in a 4-3 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Oct. 15 at Gila River Arena. Forward Max Domi had a goal and an assist to lead Arizona.

Wild team scope: Minnesota remains without goaltender Devan Dubnyk, who left the game against the Colorado Avalanche on Dec. 5 with a strained groin. He practiced in Minnesota on Thursday but is not on the trip, which concludes against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. "He wasn't feeling quite 100 percent, so there's really no point in rushing things here and taking a risk of injuring things worse," coach Mike Yeo said. "It's not a setback, he just doesn't have full confidence in pushing side-to-side right now. Without the full confidence and without being sure that we might hurt it worse, it doesn't make any sense." With Dubnyk out, Darcy Kuemper will start.

Coyotes team scope: Arizona practiced Thursday without forwards Martin Hanzal and Shane Doan, who are dealing with lower-body injuries. Hanzal did not play Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues; Doan is on injured reserve and has missed eight games. Coach Dave Tippett said they are questionable. No team has played more road games than Arizona, which returns to Gila River Arena to open a six-game homestand; the Coyotes will play eight of their next nine on home ice, where they are 6-4-0. Arizona's most recent win was a 4-3 victory at home against the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 28 before embarking on a winless five-game road trip.
